LOL! I saw that woman and her surgeon on GMA a couple mornings ago. She was completely calm while Charlie Gibson made icky-type remarks about the worm...
Funny thing, the brain surgeon looked scarier than any worm. No way in hell I would've let him open up my skull.

I read in a magazine about a woman who had a tooth extracted and a centipede crawled out of the socket!! Of course it happened in England.

I'm assuming trichinosis here? With trichinosis, when a person eats infected meat, the digestive juices release the larva from their cysts. The larva then mature & mate, producing larva that begin to travel within the body, usually lodging in muscle (often tongue or eye muscles) but sometimes in the heart or other organs. If the host lives, the larva become encapsulated in cysts & won't be released again. A human host is a dead end for a trichinosis worm, since we don'ty usually eat one another I have never heard of one making it to the brain--that must be a one in a billion chance!
