Democrats have raised concerns that the funding increases he suggests in his fiscal year 2002 budget for education programs will not help meet the requirements laid out in his education package. "If we are now going to have this mandate on all the states to do all this testing, there has to be money."
Hmmm ... and all this where they reported that Bush actually increased school spending in his budget! Appearently, it wasn't enough to meet all of his capaign PROMISES. That's another promise to the American People that he's broken. How can our kids learn any MORALITY if the president keeps going back on his word? Now little Johnny and Suzie know all about LYING -- and they learned it from Republican President Bush!
I guess its easy to Talk the Talk, but when it comes to Walking the Walk, Dubya takes a dump!

If little Johnny and Suzie learned all about lying from President Bush, where in the hell have they been for the last 8 years?
Lets also not fail to point out that Bush did raise the educational budget from Clinton's budget, so I guess it's an improvement.
I mean, I guess Clinton did say education IS a priority, but we all saw that IS can mean alot of things to some people. I'll take the improvement (albeit not large enough yet) over the silly semantics of years gone by.

Talking to yourself, jlpiece? I mean, what are the odds? jlpiece and JLpiece both joined on the same day, at the exact same time, and have made the same number of posts...

I'm waiting to see what today's Senate vote will come out to before I continue debating this important issue and your ongoing infatuation with Clinton.

Sheese! I just read that info. I think everyone in America ought to read those facts. If they did, even SgtMike would turn against Bush! I can't imagine anyone supporting Bush after reading those facts and figures.
Thanks again for the link. I have it bookmarked to pass around to people I know.

All old news, if they are news. Unproven then, irrelevant now.
Get with the program, jlpiece, there's a new crook to deal with and he's far more insidious and dangerous to all of us. If this keeps on nothing in YOUR life will be as it was. Your bills will be higher, your freedoms will be fewer, your future will be insecure.

Maybe I'll move to Australia or something, because I don't like how any of this stuff is going down here in the States lately.

Now, now - let's not be too hasty to send this puppy on his way! Remember how we've chased off so many unmentionable think-alikes in the past and then got bored with no one to pick on anymore!
"We must indeed all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately."
Benjamin Franklin (1706–90), U.S. statesman, writer. Comment at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, 4 July 1776, in reply to John Hancock’s remark that the revolutionaries should be unanimous in their action.
I think that the problem is that some folks just don't see the larger picture at all. They buy into this political hype about Liberals vs. Conservatives, Democrats vs. Republicans, and soforth. These definitions are meant to divide us as Americans IMO. Because it doesn't matter if you are Conservative, Democrat, Liberal or Republican - you're getting screwed right now and this is only the tip of the iceburg. It doesn't matter if you kiss Bush's feet and revile Clinton's or vicea-versa - we're all getting screwed together!
It is time that we stop being divided, as surly as we have been conquered, it shall continue to our own misfortunes.
"Eternal Vigilance is the price of Liberty" It also lies in the sacrifices that one is willing to make. For instance, in this ficticious scenario, the Chinese land a military force off of the California coast to invade and take over America. All jokes aside from the moment, but how many of you would be willing to take up a rifle and go to California and start sniping the invading forces? How many of us would be willing to lay down our lives if that was the only way that could stop the enemy?
Now, an invading army is just as black and white as the fantasy/sci-fi movies made in Hollywood, like Star Wars was. Certainly, we have no clear enemy, said enemy preferring to hide behind the mask of politicians. Instead of fighting politicians through the electorial process - a process now subverted, BTW, it matters not if we throw out one scroundrel or another as all are equally guilty. This is because our real enemy does not follow political lines of thought, except as a means to gain its own ends; it does not show itself, except through its preferrential treatment in legislation; we cannot fight this thing without some new approach.
But even as the face of the enemy is not so clear-cut, our aims should be. We must restore our Rule of Law, the representation of the American People through their elected political representatives, and the restoration of the US Constitution that has been overthrown by this current Supreme Court.
