I live in a small town in Central Illinois - Gas prices in my area have been taking huge jumps in the last 3 weeks and have worked their way up to $2.00 a gallon!
Is anyone else paying this outrageous price?

Price above are 8 cents more than last week. I expect to be paying 2.00 for premium by Memorial Day.

Monday, in Cleveland OH, gas was 1.67. Wednesday they all jumped to 1.79, and today, most are at 1.89. This is for regular unleaded. About 10 days ago I filled up at 1.48 so we've had a pretty big jump.
What I really hate is that we've had this see-saw pricing where Monday and Tuesday gas will go down a few cents and then jump up 12 or 15 cents for the weekend. They do this EVERY week.

Southern California. I just paid $1.97 per gallon today--and that's for the cheapest, 87, gas. 89 & 92 are way more.

Near Detroit - $1.95 &9/10ths today.
has gone up a dime the last two weeks.
When my Uncle was a kid in WWII and could not get gas coupons he shared an old car with 3 other young men. They wrapped the intake and exhaust manifolds together with asbestos so the intake would get red hot. You had to squirt some gas in the carb to start it and then sit and warm it up 3 or 4 minutes before trying to go but it ran good on straight kerosene with the hot manifold. He said it did not have as much power as cold with gas but it did not knock.

Rochester, NH~ just took out a small business loan to fill my 28 gallon tank on my tank!! $1.78 for reg unleaded at the least expensive place in town. We should hit the magical $2.00 mark by the Fourth, and by then I will own a Moped!!

toke,
About 50m west as the crow flies and a bit further if you use roads.
I love WA by the way. Visited about 15 years ago, then about 2 years ago, I just packed my stuff up and moved here. 3000 miles in a pickup truck with a guy and a dog. No regrets - this state is wonderful!

Great cartoon Mint!
We're paying about $3.12 here in Ontario (Canada), or approx. 20 cents per cup. Fun, eh?

I love that cartoon. Oh how true it is.
Kraftdinner our fuel price would work out about the same as yours in Canada, maybe even a little bit more. I worked it out to be $3.25 a gallon. We sell buy ours by the litre and there are almost 4 litres to the gallon, so at .90c a litre it puts the price well up there.
Forgot to add that is in Queensland Australia, some areas in other states are much more.

Just over the Oregon border I have been paying $1.54. It jumped a few cents.
Hard to complain though-- I feel for those of you paying $2+. Ouch.
I love no sales tax (as mantioned earlier in this thread.) :0)
