RICHMOND, VA--Nine people were torn limb-from-limb and skewered through the rectum with wooden stakes Monday at the annualRichmond Renaissance Fair.
Organizers boasted that the new "Drawn and Quartered" demonstration made this year's fair one of the most authentic and enjoyable
ever.
"The skit where we publicly tortured and humiliated 'condemned heretics' gave us by far the most response we've ever gotten," actor Paul Mitchard said. "Who would have thought that violence would appeal to people?"

I believe that I made my point in that thread. I feel that the state should never be given the power to kill anybody for any reason, nor should they be given the power to beat your children in school or anywhere else for that matter. I do not believe in the concept of punishment. I believe that it is a null concept worthy only of the landfill.
As far as these nine effigies goes, methinks it actually harkens to a pagan-like phenomena here in the Black rock Desert in Nevada each year called The Burning Man which is a imprompt festival every year. Certainly, the public's thirst for someone else's blood is never quenched - the Romans knew that : give the Mobs bread to eat and bloody killing for entertainment and they were pacified.
