All right, I'll admit it. Tired of the single life, I bought myself a flashy sports car for the sole purpose of attracting beautiful women. I got myself a souped up, turbo-charged Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX with lots of fancy extras like chrome wheels, racing tires, after-market tail lights, etc. And I have to say that my car has turned into a real "chick magnet" all right!

Just not quite in the way I had hoped....

[and just in case anyone is wondering, Hobbes is just fine...]

Well, try to squeeze in a few minutes now and then at least, Barry. Good luck with the the car and Brimfield. Who knows what you might pick up!

Well, at least it's not likely to be stolen, Barry.

Femme: Mid-life crisis? Me? Welllllll, I actually decided to have my mid-life crisis early, while I'm still young enough to enjoy it. The short story is that I finally paid off my student loans and had some extra cash to play around with, I'm still single, and the housing market around here is so crazy that I'm never going to be able to afford anything no matter HOW much I save. So, since I've always wanted a sports car, I figured now was the time.

For the long version, click HERE

KatyD: "Or who" is right! Always nice to see a few friendly faces still hanging around. I've given up on eBay for the most part, which is another reason I haven't been posting here recently. It just means that when I go to Brimfield looking for pocket watches I have to be careful to only buy ones I actually want to keep, instead of thinking about which ones I can resell on eBay to pay for the rest....

KRS: Stolen, no. Broken into? I've already had somebody smash a window so they could rummage around in my hatchback looking for stereo compnents. There wasn't anything to steal, but I guess they had to break the window in order to figure that out....

What a nice surpise to peek in here and see your post Barry. It's good to see you again.

What a gorgeous car! I'm stuck in the soccer mom van for a bit longer but... one of these days.

mybiddness: Well, my last car was a 1991 Camry, and the car before THAT was a real rustbucket of a 1986 Subaru GL. I think I deserve a nice car for a change. Of course, I'd trade it in a heartbeat for the aforementioned wife, kids and house [I think of it as a consolation prize....]

Barry, I didn't have the new car bug til the hubby got a new explorer and the teenager got a beautiful new mustang... I wanna P.T. Cruiser! Unfortunately, it's not practical for our "lifestyle." Bleeehhhh... So, for the moment at least, I'm settling for a little metal one that sits on my computer. LOL

Hell of a nice consolation prize you've got there. I'll trade you my 19 year old daughter for it. Depending on your age you can either marry her or adopt her. Either way, I don't care as long as someone gets these damned college bills off my hands.

edited to add: she comes with a very nice car.

mybiddness: Hmmmmmmm.... Very tempting! Please send me a picture. Of the car, I mean....

Nice chatting, all! I've got to head to bed so I can get up before the sun tomorrow. For the first time, I'm actually looking foward to the 70 mile drive to Brimfield for some reason!

Barry, if you're still around.

I'm still looking for that ride to Brimfield.

Of course, that would kill your chances of drawing someone to your magnet.

BTW, I left eBay a year ago, but wouldn't even think of leaving AW.

Come back and visit us when you can.
