A warning to the nation.
Several programs touted by dumbya as setting examples of the success of his faith based proposals for youth guidance have been allowed to close after their funding was not renewed by the Texas legislature. In several cases there were reports of abusive treatment under the protection of the law as it was applied while stupid was the governor.

It still kind of floors me than anyone would ever believe someone was a responsible anything based SOLELY on the fact that they're Christian or a Christian Organization.
Personally, if someone announces they're Christian to me within the first five minutes of meeting them, I check my purse, then run the other way.
Dub's a moron, and I thank you krs for your continued updates on his flaws and lack of ability.
He won the presidential race illegally. And the only reason he was governor of TX was because we've become such a foaming-at-the-mouth death penalty country in general and his opponent was against it. A one issue race - about all he can really handle.

You know, this is what I find it really irritating about the Republican Party's stance for de-regulation for the last 15 or so years. It's always the promise (by them) that removing federal and state "restraints" will allow prosperity for the businesses so affected (afflicted in their words) by those regulations and so, everyone will become more prosperous. The Trickle Down Theory of Economics in action.
What ends up happening is that those restraints are there to protect both Americans and the consumer; not to hobble capitalism. As we all learned, when Trickle Down flows, it flows Upwards from the Poorest to the Richest. And in the case of removing regulations, kills and harms more than it benefits.
I am for streamlining regulation. Regulations tend to come in waves and this often causes a layering of bureaucracy that can be done away with to simplify the whole process. But this wholesale scaling back of protections in order to build nuclear plants, coal and oil burning plants is stupidity beyond measure, as the best method of solving the problem is to give an immediate $50,000 homeowner's credit for each home to add solar water heating and electrical power generation capabilities. Such a credit could be spread over five years, so that the tax base does not take such a hard hit.
Stupid Republican solutions will be the death of us all yet!
