Teens Who Killed Toddler Face Release

Jon Venables and Robert Thompson, now 18, will be given new identities when they are released to secret locations, which a judge has barred the British media from disclosing.

I don't watch alot of television, but I can hear it downstairs. On the evening news, it seems that in England, it is forbidden to post pictures of Thompson and Venables, so there is a reward being given for anyone who can get an updated picture of them as they are now, at age 18. Also, if they have been given passports, I bet they will leave England with their new anon names. The United States news programs have no obligation to British law and will post whatever they can find, I am sure. Good.

Once again, Urau, thanks for the link.

Spaz, 8 years is not nearly enough time for them to "pay up" for what they did. The stories told SOME of the torture they did to that toddler. They didn't tell ALL. It's sick. And now, lucky us (the human race) gets them as our next door neighbors; dating our daughters; working with our children; wandering our streets. I bet they head to the U.S.

Two excerpts from the linked article above leap out at me. I categorize them as follows:

What The Victim Got:

The boys dragged and led the 2-year-old two miles through town to a railway line, where they hit him with bricks and metal bars, poured paint in his eyes and finally placed him on the tracks, where a train cut him in half.

What The Killers Are Getting:

``The murderers have walked away with a life of luxury, have been bought homes, given a bank account and 24-hour protection,'' she said.

I'd bet big bucks they will be taken to Australia, New Zealand, or the US. Will we see some web sites on it and maybe some computer aged faces?

Sickening, isn't it? Those two did more than that to that little boy.

On the news, someone being interviewed said those two would be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives, because even if England wants to forget about it, the rest of the world won't and will continue to search them out wherever they go. Good.

I was wondering the same thing, gravid. Right now, there is pics of their mug shots from 8 years ago. Someone somewhere will capture those pics and "age" them and put up a website. Do a search under Thompson/Venables and you will find plenty of websites already.

I feel so ugly for my thoughts right now.

Between this and "mommy" in Texas, I am truly sick.

The thoughts for these two murderers?
Let them have a few cocktails, as boys this age often do.
The intoxicated reaction will probably be diarrhea of the mouth.
Nature will take it's course when their identities are known.

If they truly are "changed", how can they live with what they did?

Spaz & Hep:
I admire you both so much ~ your ability to speak from the heart and share it so well through your posts.
Thank you for helping me face the brutal truth.
You really are making me sick though

These acts make me sick, too, Zoomin. My emotions are running rampant right now, from one extreme to the other. Children being killed by their mother and mental illness is the crutch, versus two children who did such a brutal thing to another child that was still just a baby and so trusting to put his little hand in theirs and be led away to death. I shudder at thinking of that child's thoughts as he died, as I shudder at the thought of the other children who died at their mother's hands.

Maybe it't time for a fluff thread. I think I made myself sick, too. Zoomin, why not start one? Anything that is happy, and will make us all laugh.

Don't know if the authorities would have the nerve to tell those two just how careful they should be every time they cross the street. It might be at odds with their recovery and rehabilitation to let them find out just how bad a lot of their countrymen feel about them. Sort of hard to put a feel good slant on it.
At least in England they probably are safe at a distance from people. Here in the States I know some people like krs that can reach out and touch you from a kilometer away. Like bird crap out of the blue. You don't know it is coming until it goes splat, and the bang takes forever to catch up.

Ah, in this instance the internet is truly an incredible thing. Don't worry, the net will haunt them for the rest of their lives ... I am sure The National Enquirer is already very excited about the prospect of finding them.

I find those two repulsive.
