Jack Lemmon, 76, passed away last night.
What a better world this has been having Jack Lemmon in it.
Thank you, Jack, for all the pleasure you gave us.
Thank you for the laughs.

Oh man... that makes me want to cry. I adored Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon. Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, Out to Sea, The Odd Couple... they were the BEST in entertainment. Now I'm going to be sad all day. Shows you what my life is like.

I can't imagine there is anyone who hasn't seen it, but, just in case...
Rent, borrow or steal a copy of "Some Like it Hot". You'll be glad you did.
According to the article I read this morning, Jack was very insecure and almost backed out of that role. He felt he wasn't up to the demands.
Proof that insecurity and fear can be good motivators if you don't give in to them.

Very, very sad. Along with Gary Cooper and Cary Grant, he was one of my favorites and always struck me as totally genuine and grounded.
Loved him in The Out-of-Towners and Glengarry Glenross. The Apartment, too.

The Odd Couple was the first movie my husband and I saw together. We laughed so hard - partly from first date nervousness but mainly because of Lemmon and Matthau.

...and humble.
I heard a past NPR interview with him and he said he was just lucky to get good roles.
A lot of today's young "actors" would do well to emulate Jack Lemmon.

I'm sorry to hear he died, but he'll live on in his movies for me.
Lemmon best role to me was in John Ford's "Mr. Roberts"
