sports4u,

Your other thread was deleted because it was definitely promotional in nature. That is a violation of our Community Guidelines. Please keep that in mind as you post.

Mr/Mrs Taylor

Just where do you draw the line here. If you are talking about a Site you are promoting that Site by just mentioning it's name ? Don't quite understand this ?
Yet the mockers here against BidBay are bringing up Statistics and the Format and just about every Facet of BidBay. And in a Negative way. Negative or Positive a Rose by any other name is still a Rose. So if they are allowed to negatively promote BidBay, what do you consider a Positive statement promoting BidBay.
If they are making continous derogatory remarks about the operation of BidBay, it's Format, Prizes, Stats, Listings, etc, doesn't that give someone who supports BidBay to defend false remarks ? You can't help promote BidBay in this case.
Or is it the Purpose of AW to promote the Bashing of Sites & it's members without any recourse?
I look at eBay's threads and they continously, 1,000's of times, promote the eBay Site with raving reviews and raving reviews of it's features! Is eBay Exempt here or am I missing something?

I just don't know. Pat says here it's almost crossing the line being promotional?

Everyone,

Just to clarify:

You are allowed to discuss auction sites. You can certainly say that you are satisfied with their services. It's when you encourage others to avail themselves of those services that the line is crossed.

In other words, "I've checked out site XXXX and I think it's going to be a viable site for buying/selling" is okay. If you say, "Wow! Site XXXX is number one! It's wonderful, fantastic, the best thing since sliced bread, and everyone should go sign up," then you've crossed the line into being promotional. Note: the last example was a slight exaggeration, but you get my drift. I hope.

Hope that helps clarify our position on promotional posts.

Pat

Gee, that was awful harsh to suspend that Sports4U fella. I see nothing disruptive there.
In earlier Threads I guess derogatory remarks and slanderous remarks by KML, Browseforstuff, Seabhs & Snippylittlegirl are okay ? Whew, this is a very confusing place.
He never made an accusation against any individual. He was just restating facts & words of acceptable behavior by your management. Man, in a court of law assumptions are very poor evidence. This action against Sports4u was without a founded charge.
This doesn't reflect well on your Site.
Obviously, this disturbs me very much and I'm so fulloflove!

As this thread appears to have been started with the sole purpose of promotion, I am locking it.
