I was running a personal promotion over on ePier, now that it's ended I think I'm permitted to post some stats? For those who know nothing about it, you can see what it was all about here--
http://www.relayerone.addr.com/epier/main.html
One week ago I purchased a banner ad on ePier, made my own banner gif, submitted it to them, cost me $15 and it ran all week, all over the site, alternating with some other ads. The banner was linked to the above URL and began running less than an hour after I paid for it.
During the course of the week there were over 500 unique visitors to that page, only accessable via clicking the banner ad or on an auction itself. I listed 37 items, here's the breakdown (keep in mind while reading this that this is *ePier* I'm talking about)

Out of 37 auctions, 19 sold, or 51.3% sell through.
Dimviews last sell through report for ePier July 10 was 1.6%
3 items had more than one bid (6, 7 & 10 bids respectively--- a bidding war on ePier! lol)
total page views of auctions: 3008(!), or an average of 81.2 per auction. One had over 200 views, many more had well over 100.

The page views were astonishing to me, I rarely get more than 100 even on eBay.

Everything can be traced back to the banner ad-- proof positive (at least to me), that advertising works, and works well.

Actually, I looked at your auctions because you mentioned them here and said your ID on ePier was the same so they were easy to find.
I never saw any banner ad on ePier.

I first mentioned (in a necessarily roundabout way lol) my promotion on this forum July 13, 2 days before it ended and 5 days after the banner ad began running--- Dimview posted July 13 after me that the page views were "up there", and they indeed were, the mention here had some impact for sure, but I feel the vast majority of views were via the ad banner. And at $15 for a weeks worth of impressions, I'm now starting to think of how to furthur exploit its ridiculously inexpensive availability...

I was one of the bidders who was in a bidding war for some of Relayerone's auction items! I thought he did a super job advertising his special promotion (I log onto ePier every day, and did get a chance to see his banner ad multiple times) - I had a lot of fun participating in his Midnight Madness sale. Relayerone, I hope you do it again soon, only this time please consider us east-coasters who have a hard time staying up until midnight to bid!
