I just wanted to alert everyone! In the last 2 days I have been sent emails from different recent bidders containing a virus. I NEVER opened up the attachments. I always scan them first. Looks pretty nasty. The virus is called Virus W32.Sircam.Worm@mm. Worm viruses are the ones that get into your computer and eat up the hard drive until they dont boot up anymore.
I dont use Outlook express for that reason. It appears that most of the viruses were linked to that software. Now they are even going through Yahoo`s email. There are even some that attack MAC's So BE VERY CAREFUL!! Thank Goodness that Yahoo has an up to date virus checker in their email set up.
Back up your hard disk and use a good virus protection software

You are right..........I received two emails........one with the subject of: 'New Microsoft Word Document' and also received one with "Tax information for year 2000'.
The Microsoft email had a .bat extension and the Tax email had a .pif extension.
I had submitted both to Symantec and they both had the same virus you just mentioned.
Everyone needs to make sure they have good anti-virus software.

This is one of them nasty one that sends the worm virus to every one in your address book I have been receiveing a email from with a file name MNBA America doc.bat file from the same email address every 20 mins 24/7 for the last 6 days now the only thing we have in comon is the we are both useing Roadrunner as online provider.
its a microsoft word virus (Worm) dont open the attachment just delete any Email with attachments and you safe.
Try to email the address your getting the file from and let them know they are infected ask then to remove you from there address book and clean the Virus from there computer.
Auction watch as well might be intrested in knowing that I am receiveing a email with this worm attached each and every time I launch an Auction on Ebay from there service.
if I launch the auction from Ebay there is no email from strangers with these files attached but when launched from AW I get one for each auction I launch ...

I get the notice from ebay my Items been listed and this second email fallow right after it every time
The subject of the email is always auction related but there is no message in the email just a file attached ..

Me too...got 2 last nite,,& one this morning..bat files..says from one of my previous auction customers..i had to block her on both my email accounts,,i was in her address book apparently..
there was a note,,she needed help,,sounded like a foreign person wrote the message..plus ended see you later..well she is in another state..so i knew i had finally gotten a virus sent to me..i deleted & emptied the trash
One was called Mom's talk bat file..
then got two others one was in spanish...
approx 208 k
i read about this in THE TAG NOTES NEWSLETTER a little while after recieving the first one,gee they are right on...
i also had something eating up my memory about 10 days ago,,then got 900 emails in 24 hours...wasn't an address i could delete..finally stopped..
wonder if people are getting our addys thru auctions or what..glad you started this thread..thanks i open nothing anymore..told friends no jokes,pics..etc..this is my business computer very important to me..some people get upset.this is exactly why..you never know..
