The CRAZY DAYZ looked to be a non-event, with little or no impact on the overall sell-through rate.
There are *still* 140 CRAZY DAYZ listings, too. ePier should end these auctions as a "courtesy" to those sellers that were unable to read and comprehend the simple instructions regarding participation in the event.

I sold two items at the Crazy Dayz sale. Not
much considering the number I had listed. But it was more than I usually do at that site. azcollectibles

hey dimview!!
i agree with you...crazy dayz was a flop...i had like 45-50 things listed and sold 21 of them...that may sound great until you take into consideration that i was running a penny sale in the hopes things would get bid up...two things got bid up...one made a whopping $.60 and the other $.12
epier said they would begin advertising when they reach this mysterious "milestone"...well it has yet to be reached and things are pretty dead...they won't say what the "milestone" is so Lord knows WHEN or IF this will be reached so advertising can begin!!
oh...another thing...if you take into consideration how many of the total sales were sellers selling to each other then the figures would drop to practically non-existent!! i'm sure everyone thinks giving each other "sympathy" bids is NOBEL and HONORABLE but its a joke and does nothing...we need NEW buyers!! selling to each other is fine and dandy but it doesn't put money in our pockets
i'll be heading back over to the big boys site where i know i will make money!!

I have to agree. I had sales to a couple of bidders I'd never heard of--the remainder were to folks I know.
That's not such a bad thing in itself, if the item is something a person really needs or wants (no sympathy bids) but unfortunately we buyer/sellers can't support each other completely. We need new buyers on a regular basis. I see more new buyers on the other sites where I list than I ever have on ePier so that should say something right there.

I had ZERO sales on about 50 items; I manage auctions for an HTML-challenged friend, who had just was ONE sale on about 50 items.
I did not find anything of interest among the CRAZY DAYZ sale items, but did manage to find two postcards that I bid on, two bucks apiece. Same seller.

I ran some numbers on ePier the other day, for July 30th. There were around 220 listings. The average selling price for the first 100 items was $8.40, the high was around $75 (3-5 of these), the low was around 10 cents.
Guessing that out of the 220 items, 200 were unique (it's actually a feedback record, so buyer and seller can list the same item twice), their total daily sales are around $1600-1800.

i cannot tell a lie....hehehehe my hubby is one of those with items still running...he said it was too much trouble to close them, edit them, and then relist them so he is letting them close on their own
wonder if the others are doing the same??
actually its a pain in the tush to close an auction early over at epier so some folks might not even know how to do it!!

Yikes, what happened? LOL
Basically ePier threw together some bells and whistles to help all of the sellers get their auctions listed for the sale without bringing the site down on the beginning day of the sale (my opinion--not so humble).
They had promised some much-needed advertising to help launch the sale but didn't come through with that, either.
After the Crazy Dayz sale they said they needed to hit a 'milestone' before launching their great campaign (I believe that milestone may be 100,000 auctions listed). They said they would launch that in time for the fall sale which was supposed to kick off around Labor Day.
Now I'm seeing there most likely will be no fall sale and there most likely will be no advertising campaign.
I think part of the trouble may be that ePier needs money for advertising and hardware. They recently introduced their 'Premium' membership whereby sellers can pay a monthly fee and get a storefront and a few other goodies.
Personally I find ePier's site rather depressing. The home page is too cluttered, and is 1/4" too wide for the resolution in which I run my monitor. When you click on just about any page you'll see a banner ad--for ePier. The gray and white on the listings pages is completely icky.
There's no consistency to the site design. You'll find a couple of different fonts on pages--Times New Roman (for anything older) and an Arial type font for any recent additions.
I dunno--I probably go on way too much. I'm not expecting a picture perfect site in every case, but when I see a site that's truly messy and all they can do is add more mess to it it really makes me wonder, LOL.

wallypog...i agree with you!!!!
i don't expect "picture perfect" either but uncluttered would be nice!! they could at minimum ORGANIZE!! i have yet to see a site i would consider "picture perfect" but at least most of them are relatively uncluttered on the main page...heck some of them are very sparse on the main page and make you click to the next page just to find the auctions!! i would prefer doing that to the jumbled up mess epier has!!
they may be computer geniuses but they do lack organization and some basic business skills...they should have set aside a budget at the start for much needed advertising!! they would also greatly benefit from having a few women on staff...no offense meant guys but women are *usually* more organized
**Note i did say "USUALLY," i have known some pretty together guys but the epier guys are NOT in this group!!**

Yes Crazy Dayz was a flop...but it was members that got this thing going not ePier...I lost money on it....but I disagree with the statement that dimview made about finding "nothing of interest" ...it depends on what "interests you" as a Buyer...postcards do NOT interest me...I did sell some wonderful Beeswax Candles (unfortunately at a loss) that did "interest" someone (actually 1 pier member and 2 NEW members)...so at least I got repeat customers from it.

ePier needs some major work...the Homepage is a mess...hopefully they will listen to the advice and suggestions being given by members.....I will hang in and see what happens in the Fall. Heck it is Free!
If people want to pay for the Premium etc upgrades that is their choice. If the paymadeeasy kicks in soon that may be good for the site also...however I will not jump into it untill they iron out the kinks which seem to happen every time they launch a "new" service.

beecandles...great for you for getting new customers!! my business was from other sellers and past customers.
i don't know how long you have been a member of epier or if you have any idea exactly what has been going on...epier is well over 1 year old and should have already begun advertising on their own without the sellers having to raise holyfire about it...many *cheap* advertising methods have been suggested to epier and they have, for whatever reason, rejected them (personally i think it laziness or incompetence)
yes the sale was started by the sellers...yes epier gave limited support...BUT the success (or failure depending on your view) of the sale rests solely on epier whom had the POWER to advertise BUT whom chose NOT to
the sellers were attepmting to prompt epier into action but sadly epier once again rejected it
the sellers had also begun plans on a fall sale and now for several different reasons, among them personal diffences between sellers and epier's lack of support, it looks as if the sale is off...i haven't been to the boards lately so i may be wrong on that point
anyways, epier has made several promises to the sellers and has yet to follow thru...when i joined epier they stated NO fees EVER...that was the first broken promise and the start of the fees...epier needs to do some major changes and quickly cause all i see are complaints and folks jumping ship!!

YOU ARE RIGHT! i see many people trying so hard they think they are the only ones not selling a thing there & feel really bad..well i was there for months..finally got a bid,,then bidder emailed me would not take bid up to reserve! my bidder was a fellow seller i tried to bid on his..same problem..there is a glitch..how many people never email you to let you know?how many lost sales,,we both told them i never got a reply..it happened to another friend there a few days ago...an email from bidder..bid would not go thru..i finally told everyone on the chat boards & guess what..some knew..& said yes THIS IS WHY THEY NEED MONEY.& SAID I WAS BEING NEGATIVE & NOT TO POST..thanks a lot..months of work....i feel epier was dishonest not to take the site down & fix it..plus can you believe even after i told them..they all still listed & didn't care???weird?!!..find me at ehammer..nice very sharp people there..instant support & in ALL THE SEARCH ENGINES & they advertise too..guess what myself & a few friends that tried it...are selling stuff...like 10.00,45.00,25.00,,,not 2.00 & no bids..so i feel i was honest & tried to let them know..gheesh i told Epier & many others did also that you can get into searches free.THEY ARE A YEAR LATE DOING THIS..wake up
fall sale?gee
it's mid august & too late for advertising to be in place,I 'm in google, yahoo etc
& i did not pay a dime
gee if you need to tell a company this stuff well might as well forget em'.
EPIER IS A WOT waste of time..unless you just like to chat & not sell...gee are we in business here or not? too bad a lot of nice sellers..i feel they have been used.& treated shamefully...
