Are racist comments allowed on other sites? Bidville will suspend someone (only one) for name calling, but will allow a post to remain that refers to a group of people as "slanty eyes". I am now getting harrassing emails from people at this site. CS seems to pick and choose who has to follow the rules. This site has become a joke.....

This type of activity is generally against an ISPs terms of service. Forward the e-mail messages (with all headers) to [email protected] and [email protected] for appropriate action.

wlaschin ... you must be referring to the "Buzzon Rule". What a farce Bidville has become:
- suspensions for no reason
- nothing in the rules about suspensions except a very terse comment made by "Him" in a forum
- forum discussions being allowed that clearly insult members of another race
- forum discussions being allowed that include pointers to "ugly people" sites with direct references to Dimview
- no response to a multitude of questions being asked by the (still) loyal Bidville cheerleaders
and to top it off:
- no bids and no sales
I think "He" should just pack it in and find something else to do

It wasn't necessary to even approach the subject except to deal with you - everyone else was for the most part, civil. You alone brought it upon yourself. Deal with it.

The actions of a single poster shouldn't be used to judge an entire site, otherwise people would think everyone on Bidville was a jerk like you were when you were allowed to participate there

Here is the official BV message center TOS applicable:

I have seen numerous instances of posters who made far worse comments than RB ever did go unpunished since the alleged suspension rule came about. The ugly people post was grade school juvenile. BV themselves posted a 1.3% sell-through for the week so if you made many sales you were probably alone, Congratulations!
I am not so short sighted as to judge an entire site by what some people post. I can not believe the post was still there this morning. Before the new "rule" I had been involved in some nasty posts (using comments like; trailer park trash, dumber than a box of rocks and my person fav, village idiot). But the "prez" has enacted this "rule" (for one person it seems)and I have played nice, others it seems may do what they wish. Now some say "it is has site, he can do what he wants". This would be like walmart saying "no blacks can shop here". In a public forum the rules must be applied fairly.
PS. One of those "sales" was to me. Looking forward to the tape.
I thinks I iz going to get sum lemunaide and go on thr slippy slid now....

Would it be alright then, if I detail the time you tried to say I was a racist, and then just disappeared because no one believed you?
Naw... never mind. I think it IS against the rules. I think it's possible that you yourself may be a racist as often as you try to twist and pull the issue out of thin air.

In general terms, I see this thread is discussing Bidville's integrity as it relates to enforcing their own user agreement and other rules. Although there are "illustrations," this thread is not specifically about events on other chatboards.
