There were two threads about eHammer and an upcoming free listing day (August 31 and September 1) to which I wanted to append with a listings report, but they were removed from AuctionWatch during the time it took to prepare the tabulations.

Howdy Dimview,

I'm new here so please don't take my question as any form of sarcasm! How many different sites do you "track" with listing and tabulation reports?

While I think the number of listings has some validity the most important issue is quality of items, bidding activity and sell through. I look at other sites like epier and bidville and see 1000s of items of VERY low value/quality. So what would you rather have 10,000 $1 items or 20 $500 items??? eHammer is the place for me for better things. I buy on ebay and sell on eHAMMER. Thier new subscription option allows me unlimited auctions with no listing fees and no comissions for $95 per month.

Hi. Thus far I'm tracking (or had been tracking) the following auctionsites:

321gone
bargainandhaggle
bay9
bidville (site now reports statistics)
carnaby
ehammer
epier
sellyouritem (taken over by toollady)
snaprat
yahoo!auctions
upperbid

All my reports include total listings and listings by category, and where estimates can be made, the sell-through rate.

I am open to suggestions of other auctionsites of interest for posting here or, if it becomes necessary, elsewhere.

Hi dimview,

I appreciate your quick response. I'd like to get your input on my site but I have been informed that I cannot say a word about it without being asked a direct question by another member. If you wouldn't mind, please drop me an email to [email protected] so I can give you more information.

dimview,

I haven't seen a bargain and haggle listing update in a long while (I think you only posted once). Are you still tracking them?

Yikes. You're right, the only report was almost three months ago. Definitely time for an update.

An eHammer thread was deleted?

WOW, so the mention of a free listing days on these boards is somehow NOT newsworthy?

Sheesh.....

At any rate, I would hope folks would stop by eHammer and check it out, some nice antiques there and very few mass produced "beanie" type items.

I'd love to take advantage of eHammers free listing, but sadly, I'm out of good stuff to sell!

As to listing numbers, I was able to sell more on eHammer (with its mere 1000 listings), in one week, than I have ever sold on Bidville (with its over 700,000 listings)...

Could it be, that the key is quality, not quanity?

Pre-edited to insert mispellings and tyops...

Of all the VOTE sites we check out regularly, eHammer consistently has the highest bid and sell through rates. - a rare example of a site that does not have many listings (comparatively) but does have sales.

Another site in the same category as eHammer is Old and Sold - but even they don't get the same bid and sales rate. They do have a good site though and we encourage folks to check there to.

By the way eHammer has free listing days 30 Aug through 1 Sep and has added a bulk loader tool.
