Hi everyone,
Thought you might like to check this new auction site out. Lots of folks have sent me emails that they are switching from Yahoo to this one, as it is free and user friendly. I have posted just one auction there so far.

Opps, just read on another messager here some may considered talking about a new auction site spamming. Sorry if you take offense.

I just listed over 200 auctions, no bids so far. The Pootah team is very friendly, and fast to reply answers to all questions. Hope they do well, since it's easy to bulk load. My yahoo batches only need minor reworking.

hertwo: There is a BIG difference between making a one time suggestion to visit a site, as opposed to blatent, planned, unethical spamming tactic descibed in other threads.
You posted a suggestion, they others post obvious spam under the guise of a user happy with service.
BIG difference.
Hope this helps

its only spam to those that choose to look at it that way. if you want to get technical everything on here is spam yet at the same time everything on here is also informational. some on here think that people posting postive comments about lowestbids are all posting spam and are all one person.

correction: MOST people on here, not just some.
And also, PLEASE, do not hijack yet another thread and turn it into a loswestbids spam commercial.
Thank You.

Hey mrjoker, At least you know who is an equal opportunity user basher. Anyway as per my post yesterday, only 90 different people have posted in the Yahoo boards in the last 8 days. So how much influence can 1 person have. Also did you read the nice things Pocono is saying about LowestBids on O.T.W.A's website chatboard. I am confused.

I am not a member there, and the PTB have been notified that you have fraudulantly obtained a user ID there strictly to pretend that you are me.
Moderators, is ANY of this sinking in yet?
He has now taken to other sites impersonating me, just like he is impersonating several users here.
But oh, there ARE steps I can take now...LMAO
You blew it. You made a FATAL mistake.

Pocono,
I agree it was a fatal mistake! Another fatal mistake lowestbids.com made was spamming the Bidbay members which happened today!

Hey, Cool .. LTNS!
Well, I guess lowestbids.com won't be on AW too much longer!
BACK TO THE TOPIC .. POOTAH!
Has anyone actually told people in person that they sell at Pootah and kept a straight face?? I'm serious .. there's a lot to be said for a name and some name recognition isn't always good. It may stand out from the crowd but it's just too .. too .. too 'something'! Funny?
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

I am wondering if Pootah.com is down. I've tried several times this morning with no response. Guess it was growing too fast but it's a great place. I would appreciate anyone's input.

hey cool...that aint cool
It's a shame that I had to work myself into an informal to expose the fraud here, but at least I was proven right.
Perhaps maybe Pat will reconsider that informal, and end it early, after seeing that I was indeed correct though?
huh Pat? huh? maybe? whadda ya say Pat?

I read some of those posts about what you're talking about, Pocono. And while some of them might give off a promotional vibe, I'm hard pressed to see any fraud in the postings. Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't fraud actually mean that people are trying to discuss, promote (or whatever) a site that isn't really there?
Oh well. Too each his own, I guess.

No FRAUD is pretending to be someone you are not!
Like a customer or GROUP of customers of a company, or a CEO of a company, or even an honest person, when you are not.
(when I say "when YOU are not", it is a figuere of speech, and not necessarily directed to mean YOU. Just wanted to clarify my answer to your question).

So let me see if I understand. Your belief is that these people were committing a fraud by pretending to be something that they are not, or even that these people were actually one person, and that this one person has even made a claim to be the CEO. Am I right? If so, how were you able to deduce that this was exactly what was happening. I agree, it does have the look of being possible, but I'm still not 100% convinced.

Their host took the server down yesterday for "maintenance". Apparently, Jamie and crew have decided to procure a dedicated server through another host so they can provide image hosting and hopefully keep something like this from happening again. They are working on getting the info transferred to the new server and getting the domain transfer done right now. They hope to have everything back in running shape by tomorrow evening.
They must be very dedicated to the idea of building a great auction site because they are sure pouring a lot of money and time into it.

It's nice to see a micro auction site doing something smart and productive for a change.
Good luck to Pootah.

But why must it take 3+ days to get everything solved? It seems that they weren't able to even hold 1,000 items without crashing.

Before they went down they were in excess of 2000 listings, in less than a week. Pretty darn good by anyones standards.

Yes, that is very good. But to be down for 3 days doesn't make them look so good anymore.

They didn't "crash". They were running on a shared server and, for whatever reason, the brain surgeons at the host site decided that the server needed to be taken offline for maintenance. They didn't even offer the Pootah folks a firm time of when it would take place and for how long.
Had nothing to do with the number of auctions running and Jamie has been dilligently re-writing code to make the site run better and handle the load efficiently. Their only fault (if you can call it that) was starting out on a tight budget to get the place rolling and not really being prepared for the number of sellers who suddenly came their way thanks to Yahoo!.

Whatever the reason is, having the site down for this long makes them look bad.
