I can't get to auxpals site. I was going to list some more items and dang can't get in. Wonder if servers are overloaded already?? This is not a good showing for new bidders trying to get in. Sure hope they get this fixed soon!!!!

Could it be your internet connection? I've been on the site a lot lately, and have not had any problems accessing it.

good news, mandm50's...just got in real easy, not only to the site, but to the listing area and I did it on a WebTv! Maybe it was just a temporary "glitch" of some kind.

When I try to access AuxPal through my bookmarked seller's page I get this message.

It's down here too in Western Canada. Guess they can't handle the load! Or well, it was a nice try to provide an alternate to eBay and Yahoo ...
Glad I decided not to list there - this is a bad sign.

Yes, now I am getting the error too. I certainly hope this is a problem that is solved, because I can not imagine that they have THAT many bidders yet!

I'm wondering how I'll be able to keep my committment on the 4 auctions that I have placed bids on and that have probably closed by now. I changed my ISP in the interim and there is no way the seller will be able to get hold of me!
I am not about to waste any more time trying to access AuxPal ....

I'm getting the error msg now, too.
JMHO (and a little common sense)~~~
Sunday nite being prime time for auctions ...bad storm here in the east with many of us housebound....the site getting hit with tons of new sellers this past week (hopefully)...
gheesh, that's enough to bring ebay down (and less has). Betcha they're working furiously....give 'em a chance, guys. And, no, I am not affiliated with AuXpal except for having joined this past week and listing two auctions.

Good advice, probably. But, when one has heard all these excuses so many times before about why these sites go down in the clutch, one tends to say "to heck with it ... I'll find something else to do with my time".
Good luck AuxPal fans et al ....

I had no trouble getting onto AuXpal but I heard that several people did. I must laugh as I listen to the naysayers. In 2 weeks that is the first time AuXpal had trouble. And it didn't appear to be a long term problem. eBay goes down for 24 hours (yes, I have listed there and been through the outages - one of the big reasons I went to Yahoo in the first place) and you all sit and wait because it's "eBay". I can't access auctions on eBay half the time, takes forever for them to load, etc due to high traffic and I don't hear you all saying eBay - bad show.

The point is simply that AuxPal IS new and they are already experiencing "technical problems". If they have a system glitch at this point in the game, then it follows that if they ever do grow to the size of an eBay, they will be off line more than on.
btw, my take on the regular eBay downtimes is slightly different than yours. In reading the eBay forums, it appears (to me at least) that their members are fed up with this problem - not forgiving as you suggest.

all seems well this morning with AuXpal...up and running. That was quick..very admirable under the circumstances.
If anyone knows of ANY auction site, ANY auction hosting site, any PIC hosting site, any pc, any WebTv that NEVER experiences any problems or is NEVER down...please let me know. I have never come across any. I have a tendency to spread out all over the place for just that reason...when one is down or experiencing problems, I go to the other. And sometimes it is ME that is down or experiencing "technical difficulties"....ah, well, such is life...including cyberspace life.

I hope no one misunderstood my original post. I was saying I was dissappointed but understood new sites have problems. I AM STICKING WITH AUXPAL. What a great letter explaining the problem and accepting blame. This is going to be a great site!!!!! Hang in there sellers the bidders will come.

I have been emailing past customers inviting them to check the site out. I have gotten the most positive response and thanks. The sellers who closed their auctions on Yahoo did make in impact on the buyers and they have been wondering what was happening and where we had gone. I have had many emails thanking me for not just leaving them in the dark.

I can't beleive anyone is sticking with this site. I mean come on, after trying to scam everyone for their PayPal information, and then putting a small disclaimer in fine print at the bottom of the main page saying they were not connected to x.com. I would not trust this site or the people who run it, for anything!

I have been a member of E-bay since 3/96. I love this new site. It reminds me of the early days of E-bay. It has all the excitement of building a site and customer base that E-bay did in the begining. The staff is friendlier then e-bays ever was. Its nice to browse the catergory and not have pages and pages of the same stuff. Smaller groups and catergories allow more impulse buying. And E-bay took a few years to become stable. I remember the ebay early days down one hour up 6 down 2 - beta systems and running system and neither system mirrored the other and end up with the same auction with two different bidders. But it had a great sense of community and family and we all worked together. And thats why I love the new Auxpal site. I am emailing my bidders in my EOA and telling of this site with a link. I just hope it can survive. Will it ever take over E-bay - I don't think so - Ebay is well established - but its a wonderful and fun alternative. Will I leave E-bay - not in the near future. Thanks auxpal for allowing me to be a part of this expierence.
