I have been selling on FeeBay, Yahoo, and Amazon for awhile. I used to sell on Boxlot but they are no longer. Feebay is just that, Yahoo isn't getting the hits, and Amazon is getting nothing.
Can anyone suggest a decent auction site?
Thanks

If you're going to sell books I'd suggest Bidville. A special seller there ( BV created an exclusive storefront just for this special seller ) has sold 7 books in just one month.
With this kind of instant success this guy has great boasting rights and has no to apologize for.

7 Books?
Is that a record for bidville, or something?

The seller he's referring to has had almost 300,000 listings for a month straight so judge for yourself if 7 total sales is impressive.
Suggest a decent site outside e, Y & A? I'm afraid not, Bidville and epier seem to be the 2 most popular but they've both averaged around 15 or less sales per 1000 listings for many months now with no sign of an upturn in sight. If you're not in rush to sell they'll both let you park your items for years free which is their only advantage.

Is a link permited on an AW post that is in violation of the TOS of an internet provider? For instance, the http://go.to/dimview link leads to bidville.com which is against the go.to TOS of using the redirect service for commercial purposes.

Give it up, Bidsbids! If the moderator says it is okay, then we can all assume it is just that.

Since you asked the best:::: There is no question, as much as I and most hate to admit it - eBay!
Now if you mean an alternative to the best, then that would at this time depend on what you sell. But don't at this time expect anything near eBay sales.

I agree ebay tops all of the auction sites. If you want to set up a shop to sell try Rubylane.com. It is not an auction format, but I have good results there, and if it doesn`t sell I just use their program to send to auction. Couldn`t be easier!

A toast to you, ballsandstrikes you are the man of the hour! I have enjoyed it all!
The best place is to sell is where ever you sell! I use many different sites, including feebay.

ballsandstrikes,
Your last post has been deleted - while it is acceptable to have a link to your home page in your signature line, the link you currently have is disruptive to this forum.
Please edit accordingly.

All I can tell you is what I do. If I am selling something I list it on ebay "Hate the fees" have to raise my cost to try and cover them if after two relist it dont move I take it to Bidville "No fees for basic listing" I sell pretty well here some months my items move real good some months my items dont move much but for the price you cant beat the site it pretty well has everthing a sell or buyer would want (.1) Easy to list to. (.2) About me page. (.3) Tracker in here you can keep track of your auctions if they sell or not the hits you are getting it has it all. (.4) If you need help the customer service there is great. (.5) Message board so you can talk to other sellers and buyers. There is so much you would have to go see for yourself. After some time if it dont move I take it to AuctionSaloon this is a new site but the owner and the people there are real nice and I like the way the site is setup. I hope I have been of some help.

I would suggest new sellers to alternative sites try Carnaby. Credit card verification is vital to any auction site. Not much traffic but there is the credit card verification in place and a good management/tech team. There ... this post finally ushers in the Last Days of Earth

Good post telwil. I don't necessarily agree that Bidville is the "right" venue, but you make good points that should be applicable to all venues.
bidsbids:
On the links thing, don't sweat the small stuff eh.
On the Carnaby thing, it's too bad more sellers don't give it a try. I did, and failed, but I think if more sellers came over it would bring in more buyers (hey, now there's some great logic eh!). Heck, even I got a credit card to try that venue out, and if I can do it, any old Buzzoon can! The Management seem to have their XXXX together over there, and something's gotta happen sooner or later

It really depends on what type of products you are selling. Try the following sites, they all seem to be pretty good in their own way:
Haggle
Auctionweiser
eDeal
Tbay
AuctionBoss

All auction sites have their advantage. Trying to find the disadvantages would be the hard part. Hillbilly
