Are you asking us what we think of the program or if this is spam mail?

The program seems interesting. I don't think it's spam because it looks like they handpicked you and actually took the time to see what you sell. Do you have a website?

Well shoot.....I'd jump on it if they'd spam me like that...lol...I got lots of good variety and quality merchandise in a variety of categories and could easily meet their criteria....heck, I turned eBay power seller status down cold several times but this sounds interesting and I really like what I've seen so far with their site....hmmmm, maybe I'll hafta shoo a HINT their way...hehehe

Pssssst...hey Carnaby, feel free to spam me with that offer...lol

Why would anyone want to tie up 200 items for 90 days?

Who has 200 items in their caegory that they would potentially have to sit on?

Maybe if they gave a firm date for their advertising, it might be a worthwhie proposition, but, they have already shelved advertising once.

Well, there's another way to look at it....200 items listed for 90 days (helps get templates ready for relisting) rather than sitting on shelves or in warehouses and with little chance of actually getting sold right now due to lack of buyers but used to help attract future ones and get the insentives in exchange for doing it makes it pretty intriguing to me

Dear Goldenpony and Nantique,

There are two points that we would like to clarify:

1.- Any personal invitation we send out is never the result of "spam" or a mass mailing effort. Our staff looks for vendors who we feel will enhance both the quantity and quality of our listings and extends an invitation accordingly.

2.- We truly appreciate the effort of the members who have helped us build the site since July 15th. This includes those who have participated in the the Max Loader Test Drive, the Stores Pilot Program and those who have helped us build our inventory and reputation.

For these members, we are preparing a very unique "thank you" package in addition to the benefits they have already received through these programs.

On behalf of the entire Carnaby Team,

Thank You

Carnaby comes out of the woodwork to respond to all the unimportant threads. However, the threads asking about an advertising campaign remain unanswered for months.

Sad.

Carnaby & others -

I did not feel that this email was 'spam', since someone had done the background work, and reviewed my offerings to auctionworld, and was in contact with me due to that fact.

The purpose for my posting was to obtain feedback on the Carnaby Auction venue, a site that I was not very familiar with, and also see what was thought of the offer.

I was looking (and still am) at the situation favorably; first, since I have more merchandise than I will ever probably be able to get to in my life time, and second since I need to expand my operations, especially since one of my venues recently closed.

Heck, I for one appreciate them coming out of the woodwork to even say HI....it's a whole lot better response that I've gotten from any of the other sites!

Thanks Carnaby for taking the time to offer some insight to this thread! I still think your site has to be the very best on the net as far as customer support....if the customers would come, you'd blow the rest off the map! I'm gathering together a bunch to add over there since I haven't got anything to do with stuff sitting around but dust it right now...hope the buyers start finding your site soon cos it will be a goodie if they do

Ooops, almost forgot...I really didn't consider your email "spam", I was just using the term in the spirit of the thread and apologize if it was taken that I thought it to have been an actual spam letter sent as well

nanntique - although they are not a big site by any means, they have potential and actually work with the sellers/buyers. I have not had a problem getting immediate help with ANY problems I've encountered over there....if you have extra items, you might want to check them out...maybe you can bring some of your buyers with ya to help us all

I have an inventory of over 1,300 items. Not hard to do when you are the manufacturer. lol

Just wanted to state for those that are contemplating a trial run on Carnaby, that I
do sell there and contrary to the some of the reports posted here, I have had sales.

There is no question, that more sellers and buyers are needed.

I am personally glad to see that Carnaby IS actively seeking quality sellers. Hopefully, more buyers will follow. Given the professionalism under which this site operates, I chose to join in and wish them the best.

Spam, no, actually it's called "targeted marketing". According to my husband, who
has been a very successful technical salesperson for a major manufacturer for years; "Carnaby has done their homework".

I would also like to suggest that any questions you may have should be directed to "Support" on any of the boards. I feel you will be pleased with the honest, straightforward answers you will receive.
