Howdy all!

I too am a recent Yahoo! Auction abandoner. I have looked around at other sites (Bidville and Bidbay). I really like Bidville: It's easy to use and really seems to be growing. The only problem is that I'm not getting too many bids on my auctions. I've been on Bidville for about 2 weeks, and I've only sold 5 auctions. Of course this is 5 more auctions sold than BidBay.

Is anybody here getting results from Bidville? Do we just have to wait several more months until the public learns of this new site. I remember when Yahoo! Auctions was pretty empty (3 years ago) and I never got a hit, but before they started charging I was pretty happy with the amount I was selling.

in three months you will be asking if there is another site to try. the users here want something for nothing and that is not going to happen. most here do not know the real meaning of auction, it is not a game it is not where you make money fast. everything is shrinking, even the boards here.

Daredevil I have been on Bidville a couple of weeks also. Had 3 small sales but thats 3 more than I expected. This is going to take time and EVERYONE is going to have to do their part. Send emails to all your old customers. Give links to Bidville in your EOA notices. Put links on your website to Bidville. Every little bit helps. Bidville starts some advertising on the first of the month but we have to do all we can. I'm going to stick it out. I did the same thing on Yahoo. Good Luck To You

I listed a dozen auctions on BidVille two weeks ago and have received my first two bids today. I just decided to list items there that I can list and let sit. If they sell, they sell. You can't go wrong with what Bidville charges. If you have items you need to turn around quickly, go with ebay for those. I also want to mention that I've made three purchases on Bidville and with three very pleasant people! Kind of reminds me of the early days of ebay.

I agree. I send out the Bidville link in every EOA and have notified some of my big bidders in the past who brought multiple auctions on small priced items. I am seeing this week an increase in page hits. Its a fun site and I hope it starts to grow. Will stick it out through the summer. I wish the best for this site.

I have been doing about the same on BidVille as I was doing on Yahoo which isn't saying much. However, it's a site I can afford to list my slow moving items on and easy to use, etc. Best customer service, traffic picking up. I am willing to wait for the bidders (started on yahoo that way) and I emailed regulars. Also have links where ever I can. Word of mouth does wonders.

You must give it time and do your part to draw customers to the site.
I'm sending the link to my buyers, about 50
a day.

I'm getting more Hits and just as many Bids at BidVille than I'm getting at eBay on same items. And I have over 100+ on each Site. My eBay auctions are suffering, so something is happening there. I have well over 2,000 feedbacks at eBay so this Internet sales business is not new to me.
I say give Bidville some time to be a viable Site. No one is saying it will overthrow eBay here so calm down Gem.
I see no big cheerleading going on either. I see more of an interest in a Site that has some good features.

CDROM I agree 100% this site cant become an "eBay" over night. It is going to take some time, and I am also giving my customers the link to my bidville auctions. They are growing at 10,000 listings daily, and that is growth. I love the feedback import too, and their customer service cant be beat! I dont expect bidville to be free forever, but at least they wont charge listing fees ever if you register by march 31!
