Has anyone checked out Quicklysell? What do you think?

QuicklySell.com was founded with the belief that people are basically good.
Isn't that eBay's motto?
Community Values eBay is a community where we encourage open and honest communication between all of our members. We believe in the following five basic values. We believe people are basically good

Well...since no one else has jumped in here and expressed an opinion I went and took another look at Quicklysell.
It's pretty small, but from what I can tell they have only been up and running for a short time.
Their boards seem to have nothing but good things to say about the site. The administration there appears to be doing an outstanding job answering questions, correcting problems and listening to the members.
They don't charge for anything at the moment and they don't require verification.

Did anyone see a link to that pesky privacy policy?
No real terms of service either.

It seems odd that the two people who responded to my question picked the most obscure things to comment on. Makes me wonder... Come on, who really takes the time to read all that stuff before joing a site?

Well the TOS, Privacy policy, and User agreement are very important items for any site that is involved in e-shopping. This is really the first time I heard of them.. And I thought that I knew just about all of them. You wouldn't by any chance be affiliated with them... Are you??

I'm a soon-to-be ex Bidville buyer/seller. I heard a few people talking about them on the Bidville boards a while ago, so thought I would check them out. All the negative posts about other sites makes me afraid to join them. Just looking for a new home and a fresh start.

"It seems odd that the two people who responded to my question picked the most obscure things to comment on."
Surely you Jest! I completely agree with ToolLady and AuctionBoss about the need for the TOS, Privacy Policy, and User Agreement. Without those you are left unprotected completely by the site. It's the rules of the road for the user and their use of any particular site as well for the protection of the site as well. I can't believe that any serious site would even try to conduct e-Business without one.
"Makes me wonder..."
Yup I sure am! I see this Thread was started on the same day you joined AW. Interesting.
"Come on, who really takes the time to read all that stuff before joing a site?"
Are you kidding? I would strongly suggest that if you don't read them you may very well be causing yourself many problems down the line.
I looked at your site and see that it is a nice clean site, however I was unable to see any auctions.
Best of luck, but if you intend for the site to be a serious site they had better think about a User Agreement, TOS and Privacy Policy (a bit more extensive that what I found on the site). A serious buyer or seller won't even think about them without it.
Edited because these fingers don't always type what is thought!

Elecdata1 at least you seem to like my ID.
You're right, I posted my question the day I joined this site because I didn't see anyone else talking about Quicklysell and I am trying to find out as much as I can about all the available sites.
Since I don't have a lot of experience buying/selling I guess I didn't realize how important the stuff you mentioned is to you big guys. But what does that really do? If you read almost all auctions boards, members are complaining about problems and the auction sites seem to be doing nothing to help them. I'm confused.
Maybe I should give up this auction stuff
altogether for a while. It's scary!

PrunellaPumphandle ~~ Okay I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
"But what does that really do?"
Many things, The policy's can protect you from misuse of your credit card to your private information being given to third party vendors. As well as allow you the possiblity of certain legal remedies in the event of misuse of your info.
It is a set of guidlines that both you and the site need to work with in order for each to have a business relationship based on how your and their activity will be in regard to your auctions. Whether it be you as a seller or as a buyer.
"If you read almost all auctions boards,
members are complaining about problems and the auction sites seem to be doing nothing to help them."
Yes, if you read the posts as written your correct.
However, a lot of posts made are also made by folks that usually have an ax to grind with a particular site for a variety of reasons.
It can indeed be confusing. and disheartening to read. There are some sites that have grown too big and they simply have forgotten that it is the little guy/gal that made them what they are.
The opposite end of the coin is that some users are just way too impatient and grandstand, using the boards to make their complaints so that they can gleen a small amount of publicity.
All sites have a problem of one sort or another or at least a preceived problem by anyone particular user. The best judge of whether a site is the right one for you is by your reading the boards and asking questions of many users both here and on the other boards. Don't take the posts here or anywhere else as Gospel.
Look at a number of sites and then make your determination as to what you like and if it is a good fit.
Off my soap box.
Best of luck.

Elecdata1 (Bill):
You gave me a lot of information to think about. And you're right about the boards. It does seem that most of the posts are negative. I guess you can't please everyone.
I suppose I assume everyone/everyplace is good. I guess I better read all about a site before I make up my mind.
I appreciated the help. Thanks.

NOW this a great site. Management that quit smoking and is a nervous wreck, and censors all the message forums.
About time someone did that with an auction/classified site.
