Hi everyone.

Are any of you having any luck at all over at Dutchbid?

I have had things listed there for a few weeks now and have not gotten a single bid. These are things that sell really well at Ebay...even Yahoo.

It seems the traffic is just what I would like it be. I mean, if no one sees you items, then you aren't going to get bids. As far as my counters go, hardly no one has even looked.

I keep hoping, everyday, for that one bid that will let me know all my work on the site has not been in vain, but so far I have not gotten that bid.

Hope some of you are doing better. I think I may try to list on some other auction sites today. Ebay is still no.1 for my items...which is fine, but I was just hoping for another alternative as well.

About the same as Yahoo!. I'm having the best luck on FairMarket, in terms of moving my Yahoo! listings. Unfortunately, I think that sellers scattered too much, and no single site is reaping the benefit of Yahoo!'s stupidity. Had all of us settled on one site, and brought our bidders with us, that site would have taken off like a rocket.

That may be true. I kinda thought a lot of sellers where headed toward Dutchbid. Maybe I was wrong in thinking that, but I have put way to much into it to just give up. So I will stay.

I have tried to list at bidville all morning, but I keep getting errors...so much for that.

I realize what I list most takes a while to get started. I can't list my items for 2 or 3 dollars and hope for the best simply because I can't make them for that. I have to list them for what I can make a profit from. Oh well, maybe things will take off soon.

Hi JW! I've heard it's slow everywhere. I'm sticking with DB. Putting references to my auctions here on my packing inserts to ebay buyers! I don't have much listed at DB yet ..I have had 2 good sales though.

Just as soon as I finish my dress listing blitz at ebay, I'll be loading up DB. The dresses are seasonal and have to go up now! A few weeks can make a world of difference with these.

Glad to hear you'll be staying .. I think we are going to see some traffic increase when all is said and done. JMO

Morningglory on DB and Morningglorys on ebay!

No sales on DB for me, either... but it will take a while. They haven't (yet) had their "formal public announcement", as they are waiting for either (1) porting of Goldsauction.com code once it's functional, or (2) update/upgrade of existing DB code. Believe that both efforts are underway in parallel, and that big-time advertising won't happen until one or the other occurs.

Probably few bidders until opening day. I recommend patience! Remember what happened in August of 1999 at Goldsauction, when a swarm of disenfranchised eBay-ers descended en masse and swamped Gold's site for many days... which turned people off (and many never came back). DB is taking the tim to make sure that they're doing it right!

Hi Morningglory, glad the dress venture worked out for you! I saw your bids...I was happy for you. (I follow your listings you know... I have started the tudor birdhouse!)

My auctions haven't slowed any on Ebay. Yahoo, is about the same. (I am listing with credits until they run out)

Kenzy,I can't say that I am very patient. I usually am but I got so caught up in the dutchbid thing. I will hang around until the bitter end because I can.... After all, when you make your items, you can list anywhere and however often you wish. It is not like you are ever going to run out of the item!

I really like dutchbid, but then, I really liked gold's too. I never understood why gold's never took off. It was such a good and easy site.

Well, anyway, I am sticking it out...just wish I could get one little bid! Sure would make me feel better.

Hi JW...I am glad you are going to stay for a bit at DB. I have a policy of giving a full 90 days to every new endeavor, and I will do the bulk of my listing at DB for those 90 days.

Like the rest of you, I loved Golds..true, I came and went and came back again, but since I need the income from the auctions (it is my only job now), I had to keep listing at FeeBay because that is where the bidders were...and still are, although there are rarely any more bidding wars...have to list at lowest I will accept. I also come and go at Yahoo and have signed up at a few more sites...just to keep my user ID, more than anything.

I have visited all of the sites I see mentioned here and find very low bidding on any of them and there are 1 or 2 that I wouldn't associate with if they paid me for every listing.

I feel really good about DutchBid, as I did about Golds, and I really hope they are successful...for all our sakes. I consider fees part of doing business and I am not looking for free sites, per se, but a site that will eventually be #2, at the very least. I am optimistic, as you can see....I am still listing at Yahoo and plan to keep doing so until there is no more Y Auctions.

GO DUTCHBID!!!!!

Hi all you familiar DB'ers!

Quoting JW:
"Hi Morningglory, glad the dress venture worked out for you! I saw your bids...I was happy for you. (I follow your listings you know... I have started the tudor birdhouse!)"

Hi JW .. hope it's a fun pattern! I'm flattered you watch my auctions .. I think It IS a venture .. my last big one on ebay (I hope!) .. only about another 40 or 50 to go! What WAS I thinking!

I'm looking forward to being done with them and getting back to my cross stitch at DB. I have realized this week that with the unbelieveable number of questions I get from bidders when I list these dresses, it's going to take all my time an attention for right now. TOO much stress! Sigh!

hi everyone,
Why don't you try edeal. I have already sold 3 auctions on edeal, while people on ebay just looked and nobody bidded.
