Have you checked out the members of BidBay's feedback?

It's completely bloated.

You have users who have only been members for just a couple of months who have hundreds of feedback.

But if you check into it you will see it's for nickel and dime items or BidBay Bucks (funny money you can't pay your bills with.)

There are members who have over 200 feedback from just one person...man that's a lot of nickels. That's a whole $10.00...LOL

I for one believe this is a sorry state of affairs for any "valid" auction site's feedback system.

Am I supposed to trust that seller or buyer with 500 feedback with 90% of that being nickel, dime or bid bay buck related more than that seller or buyer who has less than 100 feedback for items of value?

Tee Hee, you are welcome to come place some cash bids on my Rookies & Inserts. Heck, there is a nice Mark McGwire insert too. I can't help it if people are NOT spending $$$, believe me, those BBBs are NOT paying my bills.

Heya Capi

Mark McGwire insert?

I used to have a ton of his rookies...but alas lost them because of a stupid move I made.

take it just as an opinion by another members of AW.
Life is to short in reality to spend so much time

Why not search for the good on others members.
You will be surprised at what you discover once you
learn to focus on the positive side of other.

Without trying to get into a argument with you but it seems
that you may have a personal vandetta against BidBay.
why not try to resolve your problem on the positive note.
what do you have to lose? you may gain more that way.

mrfanini,

I have already responded to you in email.

But as I will state once again I don't see how I need to apply any of this to my life since I am not running an auction site.

I am not running illegal contests.

I am not offering rewards to find information of people who have posted things about my company.

Rewards you have been paid my dear friend. $10,000 to be exact.

Do I have a personal vendetta against BidBay. As I stated on the BidBay chat board but it was pulled...I not only have a personal vendetta against them...but I wage this war for all the sellers on that site who fear reprisal as well as the ones who dont' have the cajones I do.

I have tried to make positive adjustments. I have posted my suggestions on the chat board, I have emailed George, and I have spoken with him on the phone.

But the "ears" that are "open" are hard of hearing.

Hi,
BidBay has two feedback numbers, an overall number and a number of users a person has done business with. Although overall numbers may seem inflated, I think that savvy people can look at ratings and figure out what is what. It is not the site, it is the people. Some people choose to sell inexpensive items, some don't.

I think that intelligent buyers who are concerned with a seller's reputation will check out the feedback of the person they are considering purchasing from. There are quite a few of us who have had successful business dealings with a wide variety of people at BidBay. Personally, I have done business with over 160 unique individuals in a relatively short time and I'm proud to say that many of those people are repeat customers. If someone buys 12 dolls from me, sure it will show as 12 ratings but I'm not trying to hide anything. That is just 1 customer. I think by showing those repeat numbers, it attests to a seller's credibility and customer service. I'd rather see a seller have 10 buyers who have all bought again than 1 person who has sold 35 times never to have a repeat customer. I think most people can read through the ratings and know what they really mean.

Cary, we have done business before and I know you're a professional businessperson with great customer service. I'm sure you want to be very successful just as I do.

I have nothing at all against you but some of the posts you are making are hurting the people who are credible and professional and trying to build honest businesses at this site and others. You know there are a lot of terrific, generous, intelligent and business savvy people there. For the sake of the nice, honest and proactive people, especially the ones you have done business with, please think of them when you word your posts.

I wish you and your Dad the best of success in your auction endeavors.

Respectfully,
CountYourBeans

This goes double for me auctiongallery2. I'm a bit disappointed in you considering the toasting you recieved when you started this same exact topic on the Bidbay boards.

You knew you was wrong and you made amends. Heck, you even bid and won cards from both me and Gary.

Remember those cards didn't cost you no 5 or 10 cents!

Take care.

Vette, Count Your Beans.

I must apologize...I am having a bad day.

My anger truly lies within George's posting to have the AW boards censored.

This is what has set off my anger.

I used this topic as I knew it would get the most responses.

But in my defense, I don't think I was wrong about it being bloated feedback, I do think it was wrong how I started that thread off.

I will say this. One of the biggest "toasters" on that thread has finally admitted that they are not proud of that feedback. That they used basically a loophole to achieve that feedback and the bidbay bucks they won. And that was none other than Gary. He admitted that on a BidBay thread I might add.

I just got off the phone with George and we had a good talk.

I think finally he understands the frustration that I and others have had regarding the problems that we have expressed time and time again not getting resolved.

Will any of the problems be resolved? I honestly don't know.

He has left the door open for me to stay, but I feel that would be unproductive on my part at this time.

I have tried, I have made numerous "positive" attempts to suggest improvements for BidBay and today's out burst is nothing but a compilation of a lot of frustration.

Auctiongallery2,

I can understand your frustrations with censoring. I hate when it's done too. As a matter of fact earlier I was defending some other board owners because of this same exact thing.

I would like to ask you a question however. You sure that George meant to censor posts or did he mean to moderate the trolls?

We both know who I'm talking about here. It is well known that both her and her sister do nothing but cause havic on boards creating sock puppets while doing it.

Perhaps you and George spoke about this? In any sense I do know that George incourages phone calls to discuss enhancements and problems regarding the Bidbay site. I've spoken with him many times. He or one of the staff have always taken care of me.

I agree that at times matters do take to long to address but also understand that ebay wasn't built in a day or 6 months either.

It's also fact that Bidbay is the number 2 auction site out there now. Not bad considering the site is only a year old. They have taken advantage of mistakes the other auction sites have made and I really believe they will not make the same mistakes as Yahoo, Gold's, ect when it boils down to charging fees.

We both know they will have to charge eventually to keep business open and frankly I welcome it.

A listing fee however? I think not.

JMHO

Take care my friend.

I'm not a bidbay user, but I find the bidbay users and staff more entertaining than the circus! You guys should forget about auctions and just charge admission for the show!

Here's a suggestion: could each of you include a voluntary disclosure so we could understand your hidden agenda. For example, I have trouble remembering who got the $10,000 "spy" bounty, who invested $5000 in bidbay stock, who won the $1000 contest, etc.

I'll be happy to defend the bidbay circus myself for $1000 or so.

OneDay,

wasn't poking fun at you, was directed towards BB. The ceo of that site is known for offering rewards for the identity of people that post here. He even once set a bounty hunt for the personal information of an AuctionWatch reporter who wrote a not so great review of the site.
