I wonder how many of you feel like I do about auction sites that also run message boards. I think message boards on auction sites detract from the purpose of an auction, buying and selling. I think auction site owners should stick to the business at hand and let someone else run the message boards. To many auction owners seemed to get caught up in policeing the message boards on their site when they could be puting their time to better use. What do you think?

Since the message boards were one of the main faults found in a recent survey here on AW I have to agree with you completely. It does more harm than good and exposes all the warts of the auction site.

What does it hurt to have friendly conversation on the boards of any particular site, just because it happens to be an auction site, shouldn't make any difference.

I think it's best that auction site do away with message boards. AW should also elminate all boards on sites they do not support with their auction services.
