Has anyone used Western union's payment system.
They have something titled "money zap" and I just registered. The only problem I have is payment by the customer is withdrawn from their checking account vs. a credit card payment.
I think most customers want to use a credit card, don't you?
Anyone have comments about this?

Isn't it much more expensive than other services like PayPal? There are so many players in the electronic payment arena now I can't keep track. I'm just taking the big three for now. PayPal, Billpoint and PayDirect. I'm getting spread too thin.

Let me retract: I did not register, i'm still trying to get information about Money Zap.
Don't know if it's expensive, but like you I'm tired of all the different players.
Right now I have a link to Amazon.com for their Honor Payments, but they deduct 15% -- which is very high -- for transactions.
Will keep looking and hopefully somebody reliable and reasonable will come along.

I imagine you may not know this, but i am sure you are an honest seller & you need to know. Over at yahoo there is a rash of scammers that demand only western union payment..that is one of the ways to spot them although some put "credit cards" then email winners western union only to a p.o.box in usa ..(actually they are in romania & the like) never send the item..It's gotten so bad that yahoo protection plan will not cover any money wired or sent to a p.o.box...just thought if you did go with the western union & didn't know why you get no bids that would be why...i guess this wire fraud has hit ebay too...doesn't look like western union cad do much to help either.lottsa victims..so.to read about it go to yahoo auctions, hit auctions community then hit message board..good luck

That kind of scam is completely different from the money zap system.
The ones riddled with the scams is the direct money wire transaction to a foreign country. They show up somewhere and pick up your cash and walk away. No real tracking if sent internationally.
Western Union as a company was the pioneer of sending money electronically. They have been well known and popular for decades.
Remember the commercials they did a while back of the kid in jail calling his mom or the jerry springer confrontation "you didn't send it western union so I didn't have a tux for my wedding". That has been safe for decades.
Anyone sending large amounts of money to some foreign country on the fraud hot list, romania, russia, singapore etc etc should think twice........
The money zap system is Western Union's version of a paypal type program. You will have your accounts verified to send or recieve funds through moneyzap.
