We have added a number of new categories (over 200 new categories). We have opened our site up to Books & Comics, Collectibles, Electronics, Miscellaneous, Movies & Music and Toys & Hobbies.
We have had many requests to open up our categories to allow sellers to expand into new sales, we hope everyone enjoys the new categories, we have tried to keep it game/toy/collectible related.
All basic listing fees are free until april 30th 2002 on all the new categories as well. (still have to pay for extras such as bold, front page and there is a FVF if auction is sold).
Pretty much every category but anything under "Games Internet" is free until april 30th 2002.
Player Auctions currently has over 50,000 users and over a million hits a day. The auction managment tool Auction Wizard 2000 (www.auctionwizard2000.com) is usuable with Player Auctions (as well as ebay, ebay motors and Yahoo).
Thank You

If I was you I would concentrate on the categories that are working and turn your site into the online games Niche site. It's easier to #1 in one market then it is to be #100 in all the other markets.

We are still a niche site, we have just expanded but our whole goal was to remain game/entertainment related which we have. We had a lot of users request the expansion as well.

Keep your niche status, there is something in the works that will bring ALL niche sites together under one roof. That's all I can say about it right now.

I just signed up, tried to list something it wouldn't go through. OK. But I'd like to know why,if listings are free and you can pay with a check do you need to list a CC? Figured I could do that later if something actually sold!

We don't accept payment with a check? (only a credit card), not sure why you thought we did?
If a sellers auction does not sell and there were no extras used (bold, front page, colored text, etc) there will be no fees. This applies to all our categories except for "Games Internet".
