I have been thinking of building something with some domains I own.
An auction site or an auction sellers community???.........
Safebids.com, .net, and .org
auctionconnections.com
I originally thought the safebids.com would be a great auction site name but with so many 2nd and 3rd tier sites barely surviving the auction site might not be the best idea. owning the .net and .org for safebids could easily offer both the auctions on .com sellers community and help/info site on .net and .org
auctionconnections.com to be a nice sellers hang-out or an auction site ratings site. It's a long domain to remember though.
What does everyone think of me attempting safebids.com as an auction site??
As far as the technicalities......my boyfriend is a professional programmer and can easily build a flawless site with a combination of every sellers dream as far as managing sales and stats for sales etc etc.
But it all comes down to this........does the name safebids.com sound like a good idea??
Would you sell on a site called safebids.com ??
The money is there for marketing and advertising.....I have plenty of funds for that.
Or should I just do nothing with the domains.....and just horde them and do nothing with them.

I wish you nothing but success. There must be a lot of hard work in opening an auction site and such an undertaking should be very carefully considered before attempting the effort.

safebids.com sounds like a good name for a central location to check on a seller's history/reputation at various auction sites.
Something similar to feedbacksite.com, but you may be able to enhance it some what.
*shrug* Don't know about yet another auction site, unless you can develop it into some type of niche.

I strongly dislike the www.feedbacksite.com because if you use it's logo on an ebay auction ebay with warn you then cancel your auction if you get caught. Nowhere on the feedbacksite.com webpages do they warn you about the conflict with ebay rules. The site looks like it hasn't been updated in any way in two years either.
