A friend of mine, Connie Starr, is an online auction seller on the www.epier.com auction website. She is trying to raise money for the American Cancer Society by auctioning off one of the ACS's Relay for Life teddy bears - the bear is lavender with a white bow around her neck, the Relay for Life logo is stitched to her chest, the bottom of her hands and feet are white, and on the bottom of her left foot is embroidered "ACS RFL" (American Cancer Society Relay for Life).
ALL proceeds from this auction will go to the American Cancer Society to aid them in their ongoing search for a cure. I am asking each of you to consider making a donation to this worthy cause - every dollar really does count! Your contribution is tax deductible and Connie will send you a receipt.
To see a picture of the bear, please see Connie's ePier auction item:
To learn more about the American Cancer Society, the Relay for Life events, or to make a donation directly to the American Cancer society, please contact your local chapter of the American Cancer Society or visit ACS's website:

Bidsbids, I have a question for you. How did you get your html code to not be converted to text in your post? I tried to create links in my original post to Connie's ePier auction and the American Cancer Society's website, but my html code was somehow converted to text. Is there some personal preference settings I need to change to allow me to include html code in my posts here?

Here's my post from yesterday in another thread here in BidBidsLand , er, I mean, Other Online Auctions.
-----------------------------------
I'll give my demo on making stuff clickable or displaying images.
Use the {url} & {/url} thingies immediately in front of and behind the entire url address will clickablize the url. Instead of these brackets that I used above { } use these brackets [ ] . I did it not to set of the AW mesage center automatic wacky software.
To display a web-hosted image use img & /img instead of url & /url in the [ ] brackets.

Last year I asked folks to consider participating in a "bidding war" for Connie's Relay for Life bear, and to donate their high bid amount to the American Cancer Society if you were not the winner. I didn't win the auction last year, but donated my high bid of $100.00 to ACS - see last year's auction:
Again this year I am putting my money where my mouth is - I have placed a bid on the 2002 Relay for Life bear Connie has up for auction, item 387700, and I challenge you to try to outbid me! If at the end of the auction I am not the winner, I will gladly donate my high bid to the American Cancer Society. Are you up for the challenge? Come on, try to outbid me! I dare you! I double dare you! hee hee.......

Good job on the photos. It's not that difficult once you do it a little. The italics and bold functions are the same as standard message centers but AW uses the [ ] brackets. [ i ] & [ /i ] = italics & [ b ] & [ /b ] = bold ( without the spaces ).

I first met Connie online last year through her Relay for Life auctions and her posts on the various chat forums to raise awareness for the Relay for Life event fund raiser for ACS. Connie herself is a breast cancer survivor and the Relay for Life event is a very personal thing for her. The topic is very near and dear to my heart as well - my Dad is a two time cancer survivor (colon and prostate cancer) and I have had a number of close relatives and friends of the family lose their battle with this disease.
I had the opportunity to meet Connie in person last year. She lives about two hours away from me in Michigan and I surprised her by showing up for the 1st annual Grand Ledge Relay for Life last May! Connie is as down-to-earth and friendly in person as she is in her posts. One couldn't ask for a better friend.......
She is again captain of her team for the Relay for Life event this year - her teammates are fellow Grand Ledge police officers (Connie is a Sargeant in the police department). The police department and fire department (which also participates in the Relay for Life event) have a "friendly competition" to see which team can raise the most money during the event. Last year it was a "tie" and this year I'd like to see Connie's police department team get the edge! hee hee! (not that I have anything against fire fighters - they are all an awesome group of folks risking their lives to save others).
Anyway, I'd love to see lots of bids on Connie's auctions to help raise money for ACS. So come on folks, how about placing a bid on a Relay for Life bear or a luminary? It's for a great cause and you'll be glad you did!
