Did you know that Spam has been around for 76 years? I mean the real stuff, the meat that comes in a can. Hormel, the original Spam maker, is not at all perturbed about the mass usage of their best selling product's name.
They do, however, object to the connotations.
Here's the official company line: "We do not object to the use of this slang term . . . although we do object to the use of our product image in association with that term."
