Howdy doo!

I'm Rob, a newbie here.

Saw a thread here about quicklysell and thought I'd give it a try.

I've listed a small number of auctions, plan on listing some more.

Have no bids yet.

So...what is appealing there to me?

I really like the layout, it loads fast, and I love the listing method.

Why? I don't really know. But, this site kinda feels like "home" for some reason.

Has anybody else noticed this?

It's apparent that sales and visitors are very few...but I am still compelled to list more items there.(go figure!)

I am not trying to get everyone to list or anything and I don't even know who the owner is. I just find it strange that I'd be drawn in by a site with so little members, items, buyers, and such. I've been posting a bit in their message area and not many are posting back, but those who have, seem quite friendly.

Anyway....that's my take and opinion.

Hope somebody responds to this to give me an idea of a different angle.
========================

I am fairly new to online sales but am a co-owner in Nanabees with my sister Wendy(she used to post here alot). She handles all the postings for Nanabees(nonprofit) and I've just started selling(for profit) using the ID of: its2cheap.

So...that's me! Hope you will all introduce yourselves. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Rob

The main "compelling" force in the online auction universe is sales. If you had posted that you listed 10 items and sold 5 of them that would have perked up a few ears.
Most of the online auction sites have a "homey" feel and the use of message boards and Cafes is there to foster that "I'm at home where I belong" attitude.
The site could be a total uncomfortable site for all I care as long as the items sell. Sellers don't blink an eye at paying Half.com a 15% FVF or Amazon a $1 plus 10% FVF when they sell items simply because they do sell items there as oppossed to warehousing them on other site with low traffic and few sales.

Thanks for the response.

You may be right, it may just be that the site is "meant" to put out that vibe.

I wish all sites had that layout and ease of listing tho.

I listed at a couple sites, and it was like pulling teeth, just trying to figure stuff out. lol {{ok, I'm not a rocket scientist}}

I also don't mind paying FVFs...it is those posting fees that grate on my nerves! argh!

Thanks again for the post!

Nice to look at all sides of things.

Thanks Deichen!

I just cannot justify listing fees for Ebay.

Most small auction sites seem to have the same problems....not enough items to draw bidders, and sellers don't wanna list items if there aren't any bidders.

Kinda like a catch 22!

So for now...I'll just list at the easiest and most comfortable spot for me, which happens to be QS. I love the layout and the listing system. Nothing against the other sites, tho.

Thanks again for the welcome!

Rob

bidbids:
I listed 6 item's there.
2 sold with BIN before I quit listing.
2 more got a bid within 24 hours.
Does that get your attention?
That doesn't mean it's the site of the future but it's something.
Home page loads too slow for me, too much stuff.
Is easy to get around and list though.

That sounds encouraging. For now, I'll settle for eBay and Yahoo and Half and Yahoo Warehouse but with a few more good reports on QuicklySell and I'll definitely spend a few hours putting some items up over there.

Will buyers flock to a site called "Quicklysell"? It tells me the owner is more interested getting sellers than finding buyers.

How long will it take before ebay sues them for stealing the "Buy It Now" ?

I made a really lengthy reply to your other post before I read this one.

I'm glad you found a site that you feel comfortable with and I'm hoping you do well.

There's another site I know of and forgot to mention which seems to be generating some traffic (at least for a lot of people) and that's Sell Your Item.

There are quite a few eBay sellers who've settled on this one as their second site for listing. You might want to give it a look. Their listing format's a real snap with a lot of nice features.
