I'll wait for your comments before making mine - wouldn't want to sway anyone. lol

After checking out Carnaby, I found out something interesting. Many of last years closed auctions are showing up as active auctions in their listings until you click on that auction. Then it opens and says that this auction is closed. No wonder no one is bidding there. You open an auction just to find out it is closed.

http://browse.carnaby.com/home/browse/BL_Type.asp?cat=6&scat=793&type=4903

Check out the auctions that state they July 7th.
As a buyer, why would I waste my time searching through closed auctions?

carnaby is aware of the issue and they are working on it. This is something that just started the other day. Support has always been attentive there and I expect the problem will be resolved shortly.

The Carnaby redesign makes it look very similar to ebay, especially the yellow colors. Colorwise, Yahoo is also looking very much like eBay.
If you can't beat em, join em. The colors and setup have worked well for ebay.

Fairly well my thoughts exactly. It doesn't LOOK like eBay but it reminds me of eBay. I really liked the look of the site before as it was very unique and well done. I'm still waiting for someone to reply to my post over in the 'new features' board at Carnaby.

BTW, Yahoo! had that yellow color before eBay did. I was really surprised a few months ago when I noticed eBay re-designed their search results pages and others to look very much like Yahoo's. Now imagine if it had been vice-versa eBay would've sued someone.

Doesn't matter what they call it ... it's not going anywhere anyway. Too many good ideas too late. Now they are simply treading water with the new pretty pictures, and they are experiencing software problems on a venue that gets practically no activity.

I commend the Carnaby Team for a good effort, but it's late in the game ... time to kick the ball and get over it.
