I sent a letter to CS early this morning to cancel my account and to stop credit card transactions. Is there anywhere in Bidville that cancels membership immediately. Been here since Bidville started and contributed every month by being a premier member. Leaving a $1500.00 credit balance and just want to move on to where there is action. It`s a total waste of my time to sell here unless you put $20.00 items in and ask for a dollar and then you might get 100 lookers and one taker for the buck. Always thought that this auction site might take off but it`s going nowhere--we even haven`t heard a word from the president for months now.
So I bid you all a Adieu and if anyone knows how I can get out of here--please give directions.

Just received word not long ago from CS that my Premier Membership has been cancelled and I also received a Email from Internet Billing Company, Ltd. S U B S C R I P T I O N C A N C E L L E D. Thanks for the advice and I will keep a eye on Ibill. Wish you all the best and hope that this site can really get rolling. I just can`t afford to stay.

I thought Sleepys description of BV was very accurate. If the BV Prez would just make one tiny encouraging post it might help retain a few sellers that are now trying greener pastures.

I did notice that Sleepy didn't sell all that much stuff considering that he was there from the beginning of BV and paying $15 every month and not using the credits. That part looks fishy alright.

That long stretch without feedback probably isn't all that unusual. When I was using bv, I had dry spell of almost five months, and I didn't just list and walk away, I actively maintained 200+ auctions, rotated listings from site to site, and kept my auctions fresh... I fought the good fight, but finally conceded that bv just wasn't the venue for me and moved on to more productive sites.

A major possible reason for taking down the BV message center and replacing it with a very detailed FAQ page is all of the posts that definitely make BV look bad. A new lurker might laugh then leave the site after reading all of the negative posts. A recent sampling:

I know, "sleepy", he does not live far from me.
I also know there is a lot more to this story than he is posting on the BV boards.
here are some questions...
Why would he just walk away from $1500.00 in credit that he paid for without trying to use it?
If Bidville is so bad, why is he just putting his stuff out at the curb for people to take, instead of trying to sell it on another venue?
I go to the same auctions as he does. I know if I don't sell the stuff, I can always bring it back to auction and recoup most, if not all of the money I spent for it, or maybe even more. Why wouldn't he just do that instead?
There is obviously a lot more here than what was posted for the Bidville boards. I don't understand the reasons, but I have to accept that the reasons are "sleepy's" own personal ones and if he wants to divulge them, that is up to him.
Finally, why do some people insist on bringing all the negative posts from Bidville to other boards, ignoring the many great posts and posts about successes, ( and there are many there), there to paint the picture they want shown?

Hmmm ... could it be that you have to pay or become "verified" or abide by whatever scam BV is running this week to read their boards?

Only registration at BV is required to read the boards there. I think every other auction site lets lurkers read their boards without site registration.

You can read the boards whether or not you're verified. You can only post if you're verified.
Personally, I like this policy. Just read the yahoo message boards and you can see how easy it is for the thread to spiral down the tubes.
Finally, there is a clear anti-Bidville sentiment here and Moo. Really, I don't think it matters. So few people actually read this board and even fewer people believe dimview or bidsbids.

My post was not anti-BV and I was was mere stating facts to counter Buzz's anti-BVish post.
Only registration at BV is required to read the boards there. I think every other auction site lets lurkers read their boards without site registration.
I will admit there is a slight touch of anti-BV in a few of my posts.

I just want to thank BVCS and the Spring Fling Sales Team for the effort that went into this sale. I received a second email from BVCS announcing that there were only three days left of Spring Fling, and the sales team was on right on top of answering questions regarding the sale on the boards. Looks like it is the same half dozen people buying and selling from each other again. Nothing really new about that. It has been that way for the last year and a half when I found bidville. Too bad you can't through it back like a fish. Kind of smells like one too.

Maybe not a half a dozen sellers but two hundred or so instead out of the 800-1000 total sellers on BV. Seller's buying traffic must be high on BV when compared with eBay but probably is similar to the other sites like BV. Many sellers are heavy shoppers and out of loyalty to their selling site they shop there to help out the other sellers. No doubt that the message boards help some sellers become popular posters which may help them get a few extra sales.

Dim loves to rile the natives at the Moo and I like to rile them here at AW. We somewhat think alike but Dim ( I tend to think Dim is a female rather than a male ) is much nicer than I am on BV matters.
I have total avoided the Moo site for well over a month but know that Dim will be in there plugging as long as she gets reactive comments.

Sadly, you are correct bidbids. But, on a positive note there are only a couple of fools left who feed the dim troll over there ... when they figure it out, she will have no one left to taunt and she will simply disappear into the ether.
