I'm sure Dimview is doubting those stats and I find them hard to believe too.

Not too shabby, and 100% done without any assistance from Bidville "management".
Congrats to the hard working BV sellers who made this happen

The key to success may be to have a never ending series of sales with no gaps in between. If those figures are anywhere near correct then soon BV would be a real major player in the auction scene.

Dont think they will become a major playrer this way I been watching and there is way to many $1 bid wins.
I couldnt afford to list my inventory there even wholesale my lowest cost items cost me more then a $1

There are tens of thousands of items listed at 5 cents or less. Not too many places where you can do that.

It's kind of misleading though. The sale stats are only for the items as listed as sale items. When combined with all auctions, the sell through rate is still less than 2%.
And you can bet that well over 95% were sales between sellers and mostly worthless sports cards. Hardly worth writing home about.

Well here's my Spring Fling Stats:
I sold over 41 auctions during the sale. None of the buyers were the "usual" Bidville sellers. All of them were strictly buyers and 2 of them were brand new (zero feedback). My average selling price was $2.95. Pretty low, but really good for me. I usually sell $0.05 sportscards.... so $2.97 is a huge boost for me. Several of my auctions had multiple bids (one with over 20) and several were won with the "Take it" feature.
Overall, I noticed maybe a slight increase of sales during the sale. My best month was still in February 2002. Who knows though. The summer months are typically the slowest in retail.

For me Ebay picked up very well in June but Yahoo has all but died. I did a rough scan on the number of Yahoo listings and it must be well below the 350,000 that Auction Guild reported recently after Yahoo's last free listing day. I can not see Yahoo lasting much longer with those very low listing numbers. If Yahoo does close out the auctions segment of it's Yahoo Shopping then there may be another Yahoo migration to other sites. Many sellers use Yahoo as a secondary selling site and may want to maintain a secondary selling site on the web.

BV has shown us nothing, period! We came, we tried, we signed up and paid for their “unlimited gallery,” only to have every gallery picture we submitted, denied, although said pictures work perfectly on both eBay and Yahoo. We are going to ask for our money back from BV for their useless “unlimited” gallery program, and drop the whole site – what a rip off.
Regarding Yahoo, although for a few weeks it seems like it might be trying to make a rally, it seems to be in last stages of death gasps.

There have been a few threads on the BV message center about the gallery images not working.
BV should make that Priority One as that is a major selling point in their subscription revenue model.
