It is with a heavy heart that I tendered my resignation as Vice President of Technology at Carnaby.com this past Monday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people who I've come in contact with over the last 3 years.

I am posting this message as a personal note of thanks to all those who supported me through the site's beta testing, the Max Loader's Test Drive and the introduction of the Stores.

I am no longer affiliated with the site, nor do I make any claim to represent Carnaby through this user id. This is merely the login that I created to communicate with the Online Auction Community over a year and a half ago, and I feel it is appropriate that I close its use with this fond farewell to my dearest friends at the web's "Ultimate Online Shopping Destination".

With kind regards,

Leo Cunha

Good luck to you. Bad thing is with your departure, it could be the end of Carnaby as an auction venue. No fault of yours though. Blame it on the Bidville rejects. That is why I left and know of many others. Hope to see you at another venue in the future.

Vice President in charge of Technology? Does that imply that there is a President in charge of Technology? How many corporate officers does a site with 2,000+ auction listings need?
Good luck Leo.

Thank gawd they still have vice presidents in charge of marketing, site maintenance, internet interfacing functions, finance, statistical analysis, etc. left at Carnaby to help cover the loss.

Unfortunately, bidsbids, that is not the case...

I am posting this to let everyone in the auction community with whom I have been in contact with that as of last Monday, I have resigned my position as Vice President of Marketing for carnaby.com.

I have enjoyed my ongoing communications with many of you over the years, and it is with great sadness that I bring these news to you today.

I look forward to staying in touch with you in the future, as you never know what surprises it holds for us...

Best Wishes,

Cesar Cunha

BV has 1.15 million listing and seems to have only one employee and possibly two.

How can Carnaby have so many officers and only 2 or 3 thousand auctions?

My friend worked at a small company in the 1970's that was always losing good workers due to the the low pay structure. The owner started a 'profit sharing' plan and that helped the company morale. One new worker was leery of the plan and upon further investigation found that the owner had made every member of his family a 'company officer' with very high salaries even though they really never did a thing. The so called profit sharing was actually an 80/20 split that had 80% going to the owner and his family and the other 20% going to the workers ( including the number two official at the company with his respectable salary ).
