I wish auction sites would post on their front page where they are located, I have been to a number of sites, where the location of the home office is impossible to find.
Why do I care, because I sell items which are legal in some states and illegal in others, and normally I can tell by where the site is located as to what they allow on a site.
I just went to ioffer.com, and couldn't find a location anywhere....
Oh well....

HI KODI see i said Alaskan had a nice owner & i mean really nice
Yes if this is vital to your biz...i just do this go to a site..example ioffer..
go to the bottom of the page,,see contact us??? click it..maybe you did not scroll way down on that page..their address is right there..
other sites sometimes have it on their ABOUT US page also..or you could hit help & email them i am sure they would be happy to tell you..
now with ALASKANAUCTIONS.COM it is pretty easy..LOL
ps Kodi..a person i exchanged links with made me a special page for my link...HEHE he did not make an Oregon page..he put me in ALASKA...LOL digging out my warm coat hat & gloves
Seriously, we have been YELLING for years for some decent sites,,1.free listing 2.photo hosting 3.counters 4.great support 5.not a ton of rules that change daily 6.allowed to link to our websites(only right to link back to them of course)7.Fabulous understanding owners that actually help you make sales! & have fun 8.Both have Fun informative chat rooms with great people, not timewasting backbiting cliques like some sites
so our biz is fun again Alaskanauctions.com & Ioffer.com both have all of this..Just what we asked for!To wean ourselves from the big guy with high fees & ever changing rules & the other place with all those npb & no support..so we should support these sites right Now especially for this Xmas season.
we cannot just rely on one site, anything can happen. JMHO thanks

Tried Alaskaauctions and really didn't care for it, but ioffer does have a real nice site. Decent layout and easy uploads. Just hope there is enough traffic there to justify listing items.

Hey,
How do you import feedback? Do you mean my eBay feedback goes to ioffer some way?
Do you have to use the same username on ioffer as you have on eBay?

Hey timetraveler,
I filled out all the registration info, read the user agreement, clicked "agree" and i got a message that i am already registered.
I then figured, what the hay, maybe i registered there a long time ago and totally forgot, so i tried to log in.
The login did not work so i clicked on "retrieve password"
I entered my email address and clicked on the link for ioffer to send me a new password.
An email came to me immediately from ioffer , HELLO KOBE
I am not Kobe
What's up? Why did it not address me by my correct name?

There are bonified ticket brokers selling the tickets as well. I believe that when buying any world series tickets it would be much wiser and safer to buy from a bonified broker that has been in business for years than an online auction seller. I'm still amazed at all of the buyers of laptops in Romania.

One thing I've never understood is, Why would any site owner make their chat board private?
Is it to make potential users sign up to see what is being said about the site? I just don't get it.
I like to visit the chat areas of a site to get a feel for the site.

I have to agree with you toolady about the message boards, I thought the whole point was an OPEN community which anyone could read what has been going on before they sign up. I was surprised to be blocked from the message boards at alaskanauctions as well.

I merely had to change the permissions for Guests. The boards can now be read without registering. I had the board settings set to read without registering, but with the guest settings set with no permission..well it was no mas.
The boards were changed about 8-10 hours ago, when did you try to read them?

That mr. grabber on ioffer sounds like i would lose all my eBay listings and all my eBay feedback. Don't think that would be a good idea.

Reading these threads got me to registering last week on iOffer and epier. I listed some experimental items. Items that "always" sell on eBay-always. Anyway, no buyers yet. Even attempting to sell at a lower price. Nothing.
I DO like both sites however. They have a nice feel to them as you browse. I will keep listing a few items that i know are sellers and just wait to see if there are going to be some bonus sales.
I think they (epier and iOffer) need a little ADVERTISING and they would probably take off.
Ioffer "want ad" feature is very interesting. Already bought a book after listing my wants and have gotten responses to other "wants" that i have made an offer on.

HI glad you are trying some new options..we all should..
one thing if you visit the ioffer boards you will learn a lot about all the innovative features..plus they put your profile in the search engines..they are not a tiny site,,they were ewanted for 2 years many members..the employess bought it & now can do it their way..
not sure you are using the want ads just for buying?that works..but the main thing is you go there before you list,if you have the item you list it off that ad,,ioffer then emails the person with the url..many sales this way it works great
..regarding mr grabber not sure you knew this??..NOTHING REMOVES YOUR FEEDBACK AT EBAY BY IMPORTING IT it is a copy of YOUR feedback, you earned it..please READ THIS...
WWW.CARNABY.COM LETS YOU IMPORT EBAY AUCTIONS YAHOO AUCTIONS TOO.YOU MAY ALSO IMPORT YOUR FEEDBACK & HAS allowed this FOR YEARS CHECK IT OUT import auctions http://pages.carnaby.com/home/sell/welcome.htmlimport feedback and http://pages.carnaby.com/home/rating/RA_dspTransRaForm.html

sellyouritem's import tool lets you import auctions from ebay, ebay motors, carnaby and yahoo.
It used to be able to do bidville also, but for some reason that is no longer the case.
