Dear tooltimes & kenzy
We really appreciate the vote of confidence!
Mine and Gail's commitment remains with the online auction community. We feel that within its niche market, PixieToys addresses many of the concerns the community has been voicing over the last few years - a fair listing structure, exemplary customer service, focus on its specific market, and a reduction in bells and whistles. Back to basics.
Our intent is not to be the biggest, shiniest or fanciest venue. We settle for elegant, simple and fast.

OOPS! No no on the birhdate Leo! That's a little more than you need to know ... you may want to rethink that one for new members

Gail ...
Asking for a person's age won't prove anything ... you have no way to verify it. How about a compromise ... get new members to check that they are "over 18" instead? They can lie just as easily, but for the honest ones, like me, who don't want to give away too much info, it might help your membership grow.
I just went to your site and had a look around. I missed not having a site map . Is there one?
I was interested in listing books- kids books and hobby/crafts books and some craft things I don't need anymore. When I went to look at books I found the link--but no list of subcategories. Well, none except the section where additional listings were. These of course had additional categories listings as well . Is there anywhere all of the categories are listed? If someone wants a kids hardback craft book --is there any way of looking where they don't have to click perhaps through 3 category breaks to find it?I liked the niche site idea--it is just hard to navigate.
Thanks!
Cathy

Hello Cathy,
You are absolutely correct that our browse feature is not completely mature. Our categories are user driven and subcategories are added as users suggest them, either by using the 'suggest a category' on the Sell Your Item page or by writing to [email protected]
We are willing to listen to any suggestions you might have and since you brought it up, we have started to look at creating a category map. Great suggestion!

Dear Tooltimes,
It is great to hear from you again! I would love to get a team of C's caliber, and wish them all the best. Our goals are not as lofty, but we're confident that pixietoys can serve the needs of our unique niche quite successfully.
Alas, our small team at Pixie is having a great time!

Hi Gail
I did finally get to looking at the new site categorie map! Thanks!
I am interested in listing books in crafts, vintage children's books and vintage beads and maybe sewing things. I will submit some categories for you.
Maybe it is me--but I still have a hard time as a buyer with having to constantly click again to see the next level of categories. I understand this is how the programming may be set up. But it is not user friendly. I first click(1) to Arts and Crafts-12 categories. Then click(2) Sewing--5 more categories. Then click(3) Fabric. Is it not possible to list all Categories and subcategories with the first click to Arts and Crafts?
I think you have a good solid niche that can work. I always thought that a niche auction had the best chance of success! Good luck!

Hi Cathy,
The directory or category map does have clickable links that will take one directly to their area of interest. Also, our search would bring up items of interest. Your suggestion is a good one and I will keep it on my list for future consideration.
Additional sub-category additions are encouraged. I look forward to getting your list.

We love our niche and it's great fun watching it grow day by day. Thanks for your well wishes!
