My cousin was planning on buying a couple of books from the BV Book Storefront dealer and was disappointed to see all of the listing gone a few days ago. He went to the seller's website and use the email link to ask the seller about the missing books. After two days the seller wrote back and told him that he had didn't even know the listings were missing.
That doesn't sound like he asked BV to remove the listings himself. It does sound like there was no communication between BV and the seller whaatsoever. Interesting.

Looks to me as though his deal with BV expired, and that he should have been paying closer attention to his auctions.
Ah, but then it's so much more fun to make a big mystery of it, and place BV on the chopping block, eh?
Good try, but I really think you should give all these folks out here credit for having more sense than that.

And I'll bet you directed your cousin to the BV book seller because you're such a fan of the site too, right?
If it's really true that the seller didn't realize the listings were gone, then good riddance to him/her for paying so little attention to that many listings.

Anyone can email to the book seller themselves and ask if they doubt my report.
If it was an expired deal between the book seller and BV it total sounds likes BV never reminded the book seller that the deal needed to be renewed or something. Maybe the deal was something like one free year on BV if you sell at least 25 books out of the 299,000. Seemed like an easy thing to do.
The book seller must have those books listed throughout the internet on sites like bookfinder.com and abesbook.com

Well it looks as if bidville treated the storefront seller like all the rest. With such a pathetic sale rate during the current sale many sellers may leave once the membership fee comes due. Tooltimes have you read the boards over there? Not pretty at all!

I think many prospective sellers bite the bullet and register at BV just to read the boards ( any other sites demand that action? ). After reading some of the very pro BV posts there they bite another bigger bullet and pay either $2.50 for 1 month or $5.00 for 6 months ( unique to BV as well ) and start list their wares. They make few or no sales at all and leave the site. It's like a spiderweb catching an occasional unfortunate bug.

It gets better and more mysterious. My cousin got a second letter from the missing BV mega bookseller. The seller states that Bv neer contacted them about the matter at all and will not respond to their emails sent to BV.
At least the BVCS treats everybody poorly and rarely answer any emails.

I think they are planning on promoting the sports section, and they should. Get rid of the 200,000 other items, and you will lose the troublemakers on the boards as well.
