So much for the niche site.

It should say Pixie turns into a general auction site, and we all know how good general auction sites do other then ebay.

A so called TOY niche site that sells

- books
- movies
- music
- fashion
- home and garden
- electronics
- jewelry
- Arts & Crafts
- Audio Visual
- Books/Magazines
- Collectibles
- Comics
- Games
- Hobbies
- Novelties
- Other Items
- Stocking Stuffers
- Toys

I hear taps playing in the background.

Dear Tooltimes,

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Dear Justmypostingid,

I want to make sure there is no misunderstanding of our plan. We have no itentions of increasing the scope of the categories being traded on the PixieToys site itself - as a matter of fact, we see its scope becoming more focused over the next few months.

What we have found, however, is that our platform is quite capable. It would be a waste not to make it available to other kinds of niche sellers. Our plan is to deploy our technology across different niche markets, each one having its own separate presence.

I hope this helps clarify our plan and positon.

Regards,

Leo

Is this an offset of Carnaby or just it's past Management?

Dear Nanntique,

PixieToys has no ties to Carnaby other than the fact that Gail and I worked there previously.

Since mine and Gail's resignation in late July of 2002, we have been working diligently in developing a completely separate and distinct site.

Leo

Maybe this will help.

Niche Sites.

PlayerAuctions.com
Children's Book Auction
Vintage USA
Dance Auctions
www.thefrugalcook.com
Bama Auctions
All Stars Bids
3 Old Ladies
Old and sold
and on and on.

Non Niche general auction sites.

Ebay
Yahoo
Bidville
Epier
bidbay (or what ever they call themselves this month)
PixieToys.

And as soon as cowpaddy sees the light you will fall in the deep hole of the General Auction Sites and not the niche
at the Moo.

By what your saying Ebay's also a niche site.

That’s a very generous offer to the Beta testers. I wish I had the time.
Good luck in your continued success and expansion.

Leon, is Pixie Toys going to Froogle? Everyone is joining the Froogle bandwagon these days.

Dear Tooltimes,

We are definitely staying abreast of the trends and directions of the online auction marketplace, Froogle among them.

I've written the Froogle Team myself, and should know within the next 10 days whether PixieToys qualifies for their beta program. As soon as we get a confirmation, we'll start the data feeds and inform our community.

In the meantime, we have been providing daily data feeds to Bidfind, and have been negotiating with other venues that we believe will help increase our members' exposure. Part of this strategy includes building additional, separte niche sites.

We don't have the recipe for any snake oil solutions, but Gail, Carmen and I are looking at every opportunity that promises to make Pixie fun, safe and rewarding for our members.

Sincerely,

Leo Cunha

always worth a try at any site, it's only a little time invested, free postings etc...eventually ebay will have to share the market won't they?

Does PixieToys have a seller verification fee similar to BV?

Hello tooltimes,

PixieToys has a very successful voluntary Verification program. We hope to have made the benefits great enough that everyone will want to verify but we don't make it mandatory. It's all about buyers having confidence and we've found it works. Sellers are happy and buyers are too!

That sounds like a very good method for a voluntary verification. Much better than the BV method.

I see by you're South San Jose address that you must have one terrible commute. Gawd, I hate Hwy 101.

tooltimes, our corporate office is in Florida, so my commute is only a few yards.

Since admin of Pixies is my area of responsibility, it's just easier to do the mail verifications locally.
