What a hoot! This mornings boards news has the CEO saying he will make an effort to buy ALL auction sites as well as AW! Can you dig it? One of his very best people said he needed to run his right instead of trying to buy more.. LOLLOLLOLLOL.Watch out moderators, you may be working for someone you won't find "ammuzing!"
AND he posted they are flying in their people from the East coast to the West coast to help them! Can you see Meg and Pierre doing that? And one of the people they are flying in cannot spell "ammuzing" or "Nazdaq" either!!! ROFL ...............ROFL..........LOLLOLLOLLOL

LOL...Totally unreal....but the BB cheerleaders will swallow it like it was gospel.Ever notice how whenever ceo has a link in one of his posting's...like "15,000,000" new members, it's always a dead link.Anyone have a count on how many times in the past year ceo has said something like this?Ya know I have to give the guy credit,if he can just hang on long enough to get his IPO launched he'll have it made.....maybe....I bet he wishes he'd started all this 12 or 18 months sooner.IMHO the IPO was the only reason BB was started in the first place, and THE only reason all the misleading numbers and statistics have been allowed and even encouraged was to help drive the IPO.And people, before I get attacked for even suggesting that ceo isn't doing it all just because "he a caring loving" ceo, this is JMHO,I'm entitled to mine, you can have your's.

I thought this was a joke, but he actually says that he will be contacting Yahoo and Amazon for a possible buyout. Doesn't he know how much these companies are worth? This is the most unbeleivable (and funniest) thing I have ever read from the head of a company. Their board needs to reconsider his authority. Oh ya, he's buying "all" small auction sites too.

um, excuse me, but if there were a person who were wealthy enough to buy Yahoo and Amazon, you bet your sweet fanini that it would be publicly known and that person would be a well known figure - whether they wanted to or not.

I do not like the direction this thread is going. The only reason I am posting is out of respect for Mr. Faninni. Mr. F, my initials are similiar but not quite what you have posted. Is ther something you need or are you paging another imaginary friend?

BTW, a person could buy the auction divisions of Yahoo and Amazon without buying the whole corp.

With all due respect, I must say that the fact that people over there are believing this and following this, or as one poster put it, taking it as "gospel" is almost as amusing as the actual announcement itself!

absolutely denephew but WHY would they want to buy two more when they cannot even successfully run their own? I believe that is what has people in awe here.

I'm just wondering if this is either ethical or legal?

Can a CEO trying to take his company public announce such stuff in public?

It seems to me it would be creating false impressions about his company that could affect the price of the stock when it goes public.

I do believe that Yahoo auctions and Amazon auctions are most likely being run at losses that the rest of the corps profits are covering~~I could be wrong. In this day and age the way of success does lie in mergers and aquisitions. I'm not saying it is probable for Bidbay to buy them~~just that it is possible with enough cash.

AG2, "ethical" or "legal"?

When was the last time that you associated those terms with placing bounties out on reporters or chat room surfers?

AUCTIONGAURD I agree wholeheartedly...however I'm wondering if this could get him into trouble with the SEC.

Denephew and I were at BidBay during the time they came on the board and attempted to sell stock at a discount...that post was conveniently and quickly zapped...

And I guess since their "fund raiser" is a defendant in Pennsylvania for problems associated with the selling of BidBay stock they don't seem to have a clue in regards to SEC rules.

I don't see why he couldn't annouce such a thing in public. A company ready for IPO has created a quite elaborate public standing and with the filing of a business plan all this information is already out there.

I've actually used BidBay myself and was quite impressed. I wouldn't be surprised if their CEO does pull the whole thing off. Wouldn't that be funny, a year from now, just eBay and BidBay.

Same as poker, it's a smart move. The decks set, whose gonna fold first?

Good luck to BidBay.

Well~~if one could get enough cash together~~it really would not be all that laughable...Someone could save a bunch of $$$$ on advertising by the publicity such a thing with either Yahoo and Amazon would generate. Not to mention the user bases that are relevant to the auction industry~~not user bases from a "games site". It is really a much smarter move that giving out prizes and cash weekly. I think Andale learned that when they got burned for hundreds of thousands during their listing promotion (pre honesty merger) by folks that didn't stick aruond when they weren't getting money for using Andale anymore but were instead expected to pay. I think one person alone racked up over $50,000 in a matter of days.

Well~~I really don't think that it is illegal for him to announce he is going to make an offer to ALL auction sites. He could make an offer of $1 and he would be doing what he stated. He could attempt a stock offer also. He could ask his loyal supporters to return all the prizes and money they have received from Bidbay as a way to partially fund this undertaking. Since some are behind Bidbay 100%, they should have no problem doing so.

edited to ad: If Mr. Fanini returns, the boat, limo, car, seadoo, $10,000 cahs and whatever else he got from Bidbay~~I'll happily send a $100 check for the $100 I won in May.

He could ask his loyal supporters to return all the prizes and money they have received

He could also have them all gather around a circle and join him in a ceramonial toast with the "special" kool-aid that he has prepared for them.

I believe that they would join him!

Oh my guess what I just got off the phone with the SEC here in Fort Worth Texas...and something is not kosher with that posting.

Let me just say they have advised me on how to handle the situation and I am in the process of doing that right now.

No problem Mr. Fanini~~just checking. But to those who doubt that buying those two loosing auction sites is an improbable/impossible alternative to an National TV advertising campaign (what Bidbay needs)~~you should check the costs of prime time commercials...
