If you are into sports trading cards and/or memorabilia, consider looking at:

www.Strictlybids.com

I think it has great potential as an alternative site to buy and/or sell sports auction items. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Good luck on the sports niche auction site. That seems to be a natural niche market that has not been seriously attempted yet. Beckett does seem to have a strong hold on the market with their website though.

Good luck there, but you shouldn't mislead us serious collectors by calling it a sports site. It is a sports card site. Real sports items will get over run by worthless sports cards. There is a site that already has ruined the true sports collectable. It is called bidville.

I think it is ebay and not Bidville that ruined the true sports collectible market. ( and most other markets as well ) At least BV and other sites like BV give sellers a place to try to sell their items without ebay or Yahoo insertion fees eating them alive.

One major problem with that type of BV or ioffer or any other non-insertion fee site is that there is little incentive to set the price of their items low or ebay-like. On ebay the seller must price to sell or pay the insertion fee for nothing. On most of other sites the sellers can wait for a longshot buyer as it costs nothing to list. You often here statements like I make 90% of my sales on ebay but I'm content to pick up a few sales here and there on the lesser sites.

stonecold613 - You are certainly welcome to list sports items of any kind on there. I apologize for insulting you, I just felt sports auction site pretty much describes what it could be. If it is a total failure, that is ok with me as I do not run the site. However, I would certainly think it would be great to have a giant "sports" only auction site...sportscards included. So far, for me, it has been more successful than I would of guessed. I am just testing out different sites to accompany ebay sales and the owner of this site is a hard worker and a nice guy to deal with. Besides ebay, no other site has gone anywhere, but I refuse to give up. A niche could be the way it happens?

If you could give examples of sports items you had in mind, I am willing to try listing something more along those lines...or you can list your extras...or maybe someone else reading this will. Again, it was not my intent to insult anyone. Sorry.

tomwiii & auctionace - Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
