I have 3 collectibles and need advice where to place them besides EBAY, which has turned into a big traffic jam (smile).
1) Twilight Zone on laser disk -- I know the technology is old, but it can be transferred to DVD.
2) Marilyn Monroe on cover of 1988 LA Style magazine. A good collectible for Marilyn lovers.
3) A christmas card by Richard Nixon & Pat.
Anybody have suggestions? I just put TZ on Ioffer.

Pick a site and stick with it for a while (more than a week or two).
You are not going to get the instant exposure Ebay gives, so it's going to take some time to "make a name for yourself".
Might as well do it at a site you feel comfortable with.

You will regret the ioffer decision. But if you are going to do it, you might as well go all out.
Personally, I would have put them all on Yahoo. Those seem like fairly decent items and those tend to do well there.

Twilight Zone on lazer disc - Only valuable if a foreign release with features not included elsewhere
Marilyn Cover - Unless they are predeath covers they are a dime a dozen - not a collectors item.
Nixon Christmas Card - this one has potential if it is the White House Christmas card.
Of course the largest number of potential bidders are on ebay and since you are talking extreme niche items I have no idea why you are even considering minor sites.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Can I place the items on Ebay/Japan or another Ebay/foreign country site?

Salgal,
If you check off that you will ship internationally, your item will show on all of Ebay's foreign sites.

Tool - yes but you do not automatically get seen. The default listing on international sites is to ashow sites only within the home territory of the site. BIdders have to select that they are wAwant to see items that are "available" to them to see US based auctions. If you want to sell directly in another country the best idea is to list directly from their site.

Ebay would be where I listed them. Ioffer is a waste of time. You would make more money and quicker begging on the street than on Ioffer!

what makes you think a Twilight Zone laser disk is a collectors item. It's not like it's a prop from the original show, or an original script. You want to see if anybody want it put it on ebay and see if you get any bids. Ebay is the best place to find what the current market value for an item is. Since DVD's have come out and players and movies are becoming dirt cheap the market for laser disks is in the same range as an 8-track tape.
If you want to sell anywhere you need to step-up the quality of your ads http://www.ioffer.com/i/2188897 How about a picture? I don't think ebay is a traffic jam, I think you might be a little out of your leauge. Here is one with a picture http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3378365757&category=41597 You can go to ebay, amazon, yahoo, bidville, ioffer.... the list goes on and on. You are not going to make a sale anywhere with no rating and poorly done ads. I think we've discussed this before and from the look of your ad it doesn't look like you've put any more effort into your listings. Once you've mastered that maybe then come on the boards and ask where is the best place to sell. I would bet if you handed these items to a seasoned on line seller they would have no items selling them.

Place them in your closet or a dumpster. That will teach eBay a lesson. (smile)

I just finished selling 15 laserdiscs from the 80s for my son-in-law. Sold every last one of them, gradually over a 3-month period. Some sold for $30, some for less than $10, but there was a buyer for everything. Pictures are the key. Put the "sizzle" in your title--a quote from the rave reviews or such. It can be done.

Thanks Road: I finally -- FINALLY sold the Twilight Zones for $30, which was probably too low, but beggars can't be choosey. I just wanted them gone.
I sold them at a gamer's site.

I sold the TZ laserdiscs at a gaming site.
Marilyn and Life mags still outstanding, but have free ads on the internet, fairly sure they'll move soon. Thanks all who were helpful.
