Those prices are high. Am I missing something?
$86 for a vacuum? when you can get it for about $39-40 at the stores?

Nope, you are not missing anything. Overstock blew it when they decided to simply ignore what sellers were telling them. Basic improvements they did not make, making it impossible for anyone to bother wasting their time at the O. Too bad. They has a real shot at competing with Ebay, but failed big time.

Overstock started out good but whenever I tried to use it, it was so slow.
Also had about 50% non-paying bidders.
I was hoping they would do better.
Can't anyone run an auction site?

I found Overstock to be a big pain in the ass. Buyers either wouldn't pay or would take forever to pay. I can deal with that problem if I'm not paying fees, but I don't see where their sales are worth the fees.Their picture thing drove me crazy,I really didn't like their site much.

I just started getting NPBs and I and others are very critical of OVS. I won't list again until they make drastic improvements.
Checking out Yahoo in the meantime.

I gave Overstock a try. I didn't have a problem with NPB's. I had a problem with getting bids. I sold a handful of items, but still ended up losing money on fees. Then there isn't a way to delete unsold items. Too much of a pain in the rear end. Now that Yahoo is free again, I will put my parking lot items there.

Since MarketWorks is running a promotion with Overstock allowing its users to list up to 1000 items free between now and July 23rd I decided to give it try. Kinda hard to lose when its free. It'll be interesting to see what kind of sell thru I get.

No, I'm saying -- I'm merely -- I'm saying what I'm saying. I don't know why I'm always having people say, are you trying to say -- you know what you can do if you want to know what I'm saying is listen to what I'm saying. What I'm saying is what I said ...

I have sold over 300 items on Big O,the bidders are mostly its own loyal screaming customers who have not heard of Paypal ,I will send them a Paypal invoice and ask them to register with Paypal, many did.
When they buy from me,I will immediately send them a paypal invoice so they can pay me.
I have only a handful of deadbeats.
But sales have since slowed down.
I dont know why O started the auction,it is becoming a passe,on Ebay many items expire with no bid and if there is any bid,may be just one or two and i dont call that an auction.

I sold 70+ on Overstock, but the bidders have seemed to left the site, and the fees are almost as high as eBay. Their new Trusted Merchant program is giving all the searches from the main site to the big corporate sellers, while leaving smaller sellers in the cold.
