Another milestone.

Bidville now has 350,000 listings.

And STILL no top page forum.

Is it just me or is anybody else annoyed with the pop-up ads when on Bidville?

The other day these pop-ups on BidVille were discussed and I said I had never seen one. Well......I have seen two now and YES, they are annoying. Just cancel them is all I can say!

DITTO Saw my first pop up on Bidville. Well, kind of....
If you click the little 'x' in the box at the top right fast enough, it just goes away, and you don't even know what it was about.
Best thing is the auctions are still free to list

Pop-Up Ads? No need to ever see them. There are dozens of ad killer programs out there that range from freeware to cracked shareware. Check USENET, or even do a web search for it. My software doesn't even show banner ads. Some of the newer browsers even have the option to kill ads and the 'bad' species of cookies.

The listings are picking up, can't wait for the sales to follow.
So far the page hits are very slow. About 25 out of almost 400 auctions. But I'm sending all my half.com customers to my booklistings. Hope it will help.

Of course, we all know that the number of listings is absolutely irrelevant to the impact of an auction to the internet community, and hence assertions that bidville has a certain number of listings and thus somehow deserves "top page" listing are silly.

When bidville has SALES (a much better measure of impact) in the top tier for, say, 6 consecutive months AFTER they institute their full ranges of fees, then we'll talk.

I wish them all the luck inthe world, but i'm not rushing out to buy their stock (metaphorically speaking).

Does anybody here work for bidville or helps them out time to time? The reason I ask is, I like bidville also but until they get tagged in search engines they don't have much of a chance for BUYERS to findem.
Tonight when I stopped in I had a look at the main pages source code (view source) and they don't have it setup that if a search engines spider even went to the site it would turn around and move on
Bidville !!! you need to do some work on your html (TITLE) & (META NAMES) real bad!
