I read that BidBay is no longer the number 2 site. However, I don't know where the person got his information so I'm not too sure if it's accurate.

I can tell you BidBay isnt #2, Not even close. I dont know where anybody got those numbers. Unless your into using funny money
I just think people should not bash the guy.
Unless he has done something to you. Life is to short, I for one dont care if that site
makes a million, or goes bellie up. BB will
never compete with Ebay or Yahoo or UBid.
And thats the bottom line

I thought this was about GT. Where did uBid come from never heard of them are they #2. Or maybe yahoo is #2. In my minds eye it's BidBay and GT is king.
Now remember GT is not here so you should invite him before you delve into his character.

The problems with GT & Co. aka Bidbay are diverse:
1. The 'community' much lauded by the enthusiastic members is a myth. Any idea that does not toe the party line espoused by the CEO, or any statement critical of current policies, or even suggestive of realistic improvements is likely to meet with cancellation or abuse. One poor soul was utterly flamed simply for asking which items in what categories were selling! Look closely. There are only a few dozen regular posters in their message section, and they are mostly concerned with platitudes and contest prizes. And new smiley faces.
2. Even on public forums the CEO either lies outright of avoids key questions. His statements that 'other' auctions commonly use item quantities rather than auction listings as a gauge of seller traffic is nonsense. A half-million recipes in one auction should count as one dutch auction.
The 'template' and 'quiet period' scandals are simply ignored when asked about.
3. He promotes fluff and no substance. Whether it be BidBay Bucks or endless contests - these practices may have attracted attention to particular types of users, but certainly have not had any positive impact on professional vendors or those who need a serious auction site.
4. The CEO and his partners have shown no skill, competence, or technical expertise in running a site. They have been too busy designing new varieties of smiley faces rather than fix glaring technical deficiencies such as their hobbled search engine.
5. There have been integrity issues concerning GT & Co. I personally think these are much ado about nothing though. Although GT appears clean, his two partners have been involved with scandal that is probably typical for their white collar activities.
6. The integrity issue of concern is not their past, but their future intentions. I cannot, from their past actions, believe that they take this enterprise seriously. I really truly hope I am wrong but everything points ij the direction of driving stock prices up for their impending IPO. And whether they take the money and run....
And moderators, this is NOT a personal attack, but an appraisal of the practices of a site.

If I'm not mistaken, you can't invite him here .. isn't he banned?
