Maybe if we all got together and asked, or begged, Auction Watch to list Bidville Auctions they may do it. Please anyone interested in listing auctions to Bidville from AW, please, please ask AW. I was on No Bidding and all the items there were transfered to Bidville, that's one reason there were so many auctions so soon.

I have sent email to Bidville customer service to inform them that AW has limited Bidville threads and still has us stuck down here in the basement. I thought Bidville should take this into consideration before paying to run any more advertising banners on AW.

I just ended 19 listings on BidVille - none of them got any bids after the 3rd listing. Waste of time ...

I just ended the last on mine there as well. 3 weeks, and no lookers even, I agree what a waste of time.

If we're going to use isolated cases to represent traffic and bidding on Bidville, I sold just over $100 worth of sports cards on Bidville today. These cards were listed at the "going rate" on eBay.

Well, my "wasted time" on Bidville has resulted in 6 closed auctions on Bidville including a grouping of sportscards totaling over $500 (and the check arrived within 4 days). I will continue to waste my time there along with my beckett site.

Sports cards seem to be doing reasonably well on Bidville which I would expect. I see a lot of Bidville posts on the newsgroups and on the web clubs.
Maybe some of the other categories are not doing as well because sellers are not posting Bidville links. I know there are newsgroups for stamps, coins, action figures, beanie babies, antiques, dolls, and they're is rec.collecting where you can post just about any category of item listed on Bidville.

Maybe they should rename BidVille "The Sports Card Mall" - that's all that seems to be selling there. Certainly not very encourging for people who are not into sports cards, but if it's working for you card traders, enjoy it while you can

Yes, BidVille has got to be included in the search engine.
With my hit counters stuck on zero, I've been slowly removing my items and, believe it or not, putting them back on Yahoo (where I'd not listed since the fees started since I've got no credits). I'm getting as many hits there now as on eBay (according to Ruby Lane counters) and I've made 2 sales since yesterday.
Sure, I could afford to let my stuff sit at BidVille for months on end, but this is not about money for me. It's about space! If my basement shelves are full of stuff waiting to sell on BidVille, I can't put any new stuff up.
P.S. I did sell 6 items in February, but I suspect that was mainly due to my free shipping offer for eBay customers. I think only 1 sale was from someone I hadn't sold to on eBay. Not too encouraging in the book department....

As long as they don't name it Card Mall - I already own that domain
Seriously though, I've had luck with all sorts of collectibles there - Stamps, coins, phonecards, etc. Since I am basically doing first bid wins there, I have a promotion going where if you bid on three of my lots, I pay for shipping.
You won't see active bids on my stuff, because when there is a bid, auction ends. I notify the bidder, then relist the item...

I must admit, I am having no luck either! I initially sold about 15 items but lately no looks and no bids. I have most of my items at 1st bid wins, hoping to close a deal.

I don't know what you folks sell, but if you are not posting links to your auctions, this may be part of the problem. I would suggest the rec.collecting newsgroup for posting links if you can't find a newsgroup that is more suitable.
Sports cards are doing reasonably well on Bidville for the simple reason that sports card sellers put the word out on the newsgroups, clubs, and AOL message boards.
One seller said that he is doing well with glassware and I see he is listing his items in clubs.

If you all quit listing your items there what are the sellers going to find when the do stop by? And what reason to return? As I see it there isn't much selling anywhere and I would rather build up my listings so when the buyers come by there is something to buy and a reason to return to the site. My sales are slow but steady and the people I have dealt with have been great!

Oh, forshoppin, I couldn't agree more! I haven't listed on BidVille yet, but have been on ePier off and on. I know the increase in the listings there is really starting to draw a crowd. It's a real turn-off to me as a buyer to go to a site and see no listings I'm interested in buying. Shoot, I do my best impulse shopping on the little sites.

I am NOT going to give up on Bidville just yet. I have items listed for the last month. Only 2 sales but I figure it is free so it is worth it to wait. My page views have been picking up lately. Hopefully I will have a sale by saturday when all 125+ close. Things are picking up there. Not too many people know about the site. Word of mouth should help, advertising even more!

BidVille is the best thing going in my opinion. The items I sell can't support fees of any kind. While things are slow there, they are also slow all over. Sellers and buyers will have to go along way to find the good will that exists there. I'm sticking with it and doing what I can to promote it.

Well let me say this about that!!!! I have now had over 100 closed auctions on BidVille and have only had 3 no pays. AND I DO NOT LIST SPORTS CARDS. So RB I just guess you are listing the wrong things on BidVille. I have noticed that a few things have no market on Bidville one of them is books. RB what do you mainly list.

AW is not fond of Bidville. But with the listings going up all the time you would think they would want to make some money and launch on to bidville more customers for them there is alot more auctions in bidville them BooHoo. Well I guess AW has more money now then they no what to do with so let them stay and launch on to the #4 auction site Yahoo. AW if you ever deside you need more members and drop the affair with Yahoo and launch on to Bidville where most of my auctions are at I for one may come back (Would like you to drop the fvf.)

telwil,
Don't you think Bidville is now the second largest auction site? Of course, I still can't get a handle on where BidBay fits into the rankings.
According to Bidville, Auction Tamer looks to be the only auction launching software supporting their site. I launch my own auctions manually at all sites so can't give a review on that program.

Yo... Is it me or is half these posts "for" or "against" sound like they come straigt from the corporate headquarters of the competition and competitor....????
From someone in the trenches I'm quite eagar for a auction company to rise up and take the lead. I hope some investors are watching and will finance the new kid on the block. Yo... new kids you have our interest keep working hard.
UNHAPPY... Very unhappy with choices (huming to Van Hallen) right here right now..!
