Here's this amazing story:

http://www.cnn.com/2001/LAW/04/20/internet.privacy.ap/index.html

"Chat room users accused by a bankrupt Internet company of posting critical messages in an effort to drive its stock price down will not be identified, a federal judge has ruled."

Powerhouse, no offense..honest...the amazing part to me is not the story (these type stories abound), but however in the world that has anything to do with bidbay?

Gheesh, kinda like shootin' polecats at night with an unloaded rifle...I don't get it, is all. How do you tie that together with bidbay? There are all kinda dot.coms biting the dust and I DON'T think that chat roomers or board posters can bring one down...whoever they were...

confused, perplexed aramatha here

...gotta get him in...only way I can is to post

As I understood the post, it was not implied that it was talking about Bidbay, but rather was the comment of another poster. I believe that poster is probably accurate. To each their own. If you don't agree, fine, but it is our belief.

Hi, aramatha.
I understand that you were trying to ask nicely, but as allykat pointed out - I never said a word about bidbay.
This is, as the title spells out, about 2themart.com, but of course it does have strong implications for any other site that tries to pull this illegal stunt.

" 2TheMart wanted Bellevue-based Infospace to turn over the names of people who chatted on a site it maintained. 2TheMart wanted to prove that some of the chat room users also are members of the class-action suit against the company for alleged securities fraud, the company's attorney Keith Bardellini said."

Allykat, what did your earlier post mean when you said that they were threatening to sue and lost? and trolling? Who?
Maybe something that I missed?
Thanks!

sorry, Powerhouse. I was confused by the post in the other thread re Bidbay and Consumers Report and several other posts. I have trouble following you young 'uns sometimes. I guess I don't understand a lot unless people can talk straight out and I guess people aren't allowed to sometimes.

And I guess I'm kinda pro everything as I have auctions spread around at different sites. I really come here for news. When it comes to sites, I always go by my own personal experiences and mostly I just list and sell. Except at this time of the year I find it to be slow at all the sites.

I still don't understand what the story is about, tho, interesting as the legal aspects of it are. Instead of aramatha will sign myself..

old and slow
