BidBay is limiting auto relists to 12 times. BidBay used to have a limit of 99 relists. BidVille still does! Auctions including Ebay are much slower this time of the year. In my experience (4 years) the auctions slow down around March and then pick back up again around September or October. With this in mind, I really think this was another mistake for BidBay! BidBay has no more sales than BidVille does. At least BidVille holds alot more promise for the future. On Ebay the sell-thru is about 50% and on Yahoo (nevermind, that site is now a joke). Who wants to relist all the time, with no bidders? I find myself laughing at the BidBay Blunders!

99 relists are a bit much.

On a 10 day auction, that's almost 3 years! If an item hasn't sold in that amount of time, maybe it's time to put it in the trash.

12 relists at any small site seems like a reasonable amount. Again, if the thing hasn't sold after 4 months with the 4 million + registered members there , then maybe it isn't saleable.

Hay 4 million members they should have there own State. I love the Bidbay math. Do you think people believe Bidbays front page numbers? And as a buyer if you seen the numbers on the front page and clicked on the catagories to see "0" listings what would you think? Have a nice buying/selling day.

Personally, I think that 99 auto relists is rediculous. If you have a 7 day auction then it will continue to run for almost TWO YEARS!

Do you really know where you will be in two years? Let's say that you lose interest in the auction world after one year, you change your email address three times within that period and then eighteen months after you put that beanie baby up for auction Suzy comes and bids on it. Suzy, not knowing that the item was listed a year and a half ago, expects to get it, but the seller is nowhere to be found.

99 auto relists is just a way for the auction site to retain numbers. Good for Bidbay for getting rid of it. Bad for Bidville for allowing it.

Absolutely ridiculous! If they had BIDDERS, they wouldn't need to relist.......

Allykat, That is the truth. If the items are selling you would not have to relist 99 times. I never relist that many times I know in Bidville you can set it at 1-99 I normally relist 3-6 if it dont sell in that amount of time I move it or make changes. So the amount of relist is up to the seller, isnt that nice "It is up to the seller." And bidville and other auction sites do not play games with the numbers like Bidbay. And hay Bidville gives you freedom of speech Just no cussing. Have a nice buying/selling day.

How the heck can you remember what you've listed after relisting 99 times? I think I would have taken the hint long before that no one wants the darn thing and either pitch it or put it in my garage sale. geesch.

99 relists is like 99 bottles of beer on the wall! I think someone had too much scotch when they thought of the 99.

Even 12 relists are too much! I think if an item hasn't sold on the first relist, then it's time to move on and place it elsewhere where it will probably sell or like the lady says, pitch it into the trash.

The 99 relists probably comes from an XX default in the software; had it been XXX there would be 999 relists.

And given the lack of bidders, those 999 relists just might be about right.
