I have quite a few unusual and interesting books to sell, many being older and of a type you would find on ALibris -- but apparently I can't sell on ALibris because I'm not an official bookseller. And Half.Com seems to be devoted to current things (a lot of mine don't have ISBNs, for example). I've been listing some on EBay and it seems a waste of time and money. Does anyone know of a better site to auction and/or sell collector-type books? That an individual can list on? I did a search but again ended up with professional bookseller sites. Thanks - will appreciate any info. as I don't have any time to surf!

Check out webswap. They can handle books like half as well as books that half cannot handle, like rare or autographed copies.

Thanks, I will check it out -- and also thanks to the other replier, I guess you sent that privately to me, will check your site out too. So many places to go, so little time!

lphoenix- I have been looking for a place to sell books outside of eBay and am as stymied as you. You will find people who are doing well on Amazon-I quit listing there in the Spring- I believe they are selling in the rare/antiquarian line- higher end.I know people sell at Half.com- I buy there- so I know they are selling- but I can't figure out that site's secret to selling. How low can you go on prices and still make it worth the bother??Yahoo is notoriously bad for books- yet a friend took my suggestion and listed 12 eBay rejects there(no-fees so you have nothing to lose) and sold 4 of them.
My best book sales are at TIAS.com in my antique shop there. I am also listing on JustBooks.co.uk. Free listings now- person or business- fixed price venue.Actually any of the "professional" sites will let you sell books for a monthly fee.
Maybe Yahoo- treated as a fixed price shop- with first bid wins is an answer. You can relist forever and with sellers moving over from eBay- the buyers will come too. Also check Popula.com and see if your books would fit in there.

I found a new Auction site that is allowing you to sell item for free. It is called LowestBids.com, the site is a little tricky to get to understand, but once you get it its really easy to use. You can even advertise your item with banners that run on third party sites. I think it will be big.

Auctions on lowestbids are so much more fun than those on any other auction sites I have used and I think they are going to be the site of the future.

well hello Bruce. Thought you said you didn't come down here much? Glad to see you are still trolling.
I too, have lots of books to sell. Sometimes I do pretty good selling them in lots on ebay but will check out some of these other sites. I also like to buy books online. Thanks.
