I have been trying for several months to have my account and all relevent information removed from BidBay's servers.
I have sent requests several times to no avail. Not even a response from support.
I voluntarily deactivated (there is a place on the site to do this) the account and can not even access it to change the information I had originally provided.
I know the information is still there because I used the forgot password link and received an email with my password.

I'd just leave it, so no one else can use your name ever, I know I don't want my user name there, but remember, If its listed among their proported 5 million membership list, (currently active members, 750, plus the supposed "buy-it-now" bidders only; not counted list), at least nobody can use it.

I've been trying to have mine removed for a long time too. Yvonne doesn't answer emails. I finally called and spoke to a Brenda (Navigator) the other night and she removed only my email address. Since I'm trying to unload the unproductive and waste of time "store" all emails will be sent to BidBay instead of me and they can contact me.
I told Yvonne I wanted all personal info removed, address, phone, etc and she refuses to cooperate.
I really don't care if someone decided to register my ID if it were removed.
The problem I have is that their privacy policy is horrendous, plus, they are not registered with any type of company such as trust-E, verisign, etc.
In the event they need to gather up additional capital, I do not wish my information, both email and RL address being pimped out. There is nothing in BidBay's privacy policy that I saw that prevents this.
I was hesitant to post of this problem.
However, BidBay's lack of cooperation has left me no other choice but to caution the auction community that their personal information may be in jeopardy.
I can't believe I was able to de-activate my account, but am unable to re-activate it on my own to make any changes.

mtnmama if they remove the personal info, then that will take away from their precious numbers!!!! Why do you think they show 4 mill members?? Because 3 1/2 million are long gone and cannot get thier personal info deleted. It would be comical if it weren't so pathetic! Oh, and you mean the NEW Navigator huh? Wonder if she knows she has six kids and one on the way, now 7? I wonder how she finds time to be Navigator as the mom of seven bambinos????/ I Yi Yi!!!!
Deichen, you have to put the address and phone number on the application or your account won't activate. Remember all the people that ****** posted on the chat board about that he could not reach by phone at the number given so he assumed they were TROLLS????
The bottom line is......WHO CARES????? Most all of our information, once put into cyberspace is available to about any wacko that wants it.....isn't that right deichen???
But tool lady as they always say, call *-***-******. Wonder if that is anything like BR-549????

Is this a test, like how many emails, and how many phone calls does it take to remove my name and personal Information from your registry, and will they really, afterall, its all about numbers.
We all know how much they care, everyone knows they care enough to have a toll free number for you to call, unfortunately, that is so there is no email copy of all their ineptness, promises, and platitudes, yeah right...........

Thank you Bidbay for showing your true colors! You have made my day! Do you really think AW is so stupid that they cannot check where this was posted from and see it is not from my computer? Also if you are going to try and make it look like me AGAIN, please pretend you have a brain and spell my name right!!!
email me at [email protected] anyone if you want details on this ignorant person.

Your account has been revoked and your post deleted. If you have a personal conflict with another User, then take it back to Bidbay's message boards or take it to email (and that piece of advice goes for everyone).

Well, that was a shocker. How many times are they going to cut and paste that from months ago?
At least they could have spelled your old ID correctly, but if they did, they wouldn't have been able to register here, would they?
---------------------------------------
What did this mean?
"And, also, mtnmama Yvonne????"
Are you referring to who I talked to at BidBay to get my account off? I emailed Yvonne, the *choke* CFO, I believe they call her and she never took it off. Then I called BidBay Navigator (the female) and asked her about it. She took my email off, but that was it. Let's not forget how many "users" have access to the personal files there. How many "users" who aren't "employees" but contract workers who seem to make many visits to the office. Who do you trust? LOL!
BBNavigator does not have any children she said. She was amazed that her "boss" whom I won't mention here because I don't want to attract her attention anymore, didn't fix the page. She was going to ask her to do it. Sooo, as far as Friday night, Navigator had 6 children with one on the way. Hmmm, it seems the other Navigator said he had 10, but I guess after 7 who counts? Har Har Har

And the odd thing is....what do they think they are going to accomplish by continuing to put it on there? Does that make me a crook or a creep or something just cause my kids have epilepsy?????

No, it makes them look cheap and immature. Let them post what they want. Eventually they'll tire of their little games and go back where they belong.
Just don't worry about it. The more they post, the more people will laugh at them, not you. Kind of makes you wonder what kind of people are there, huh?
The other night when someone posted about what she thought about my husband and me from my homepage, showed how they truly judge people. They don't judge by anything but appearances. That's very sad. It just so happens, that isn't even me or my dh. It's some neighbors of ours who were dressing up for a surprise costume party and we happened to use their picture for the newsletter! That post of hers really amused my dh and my neighbors! Such sick people all around the 'net. I wonder if someone would have said something about her and her husband and kids, would she have gotten upset. There are people out there who would really have a field day with them! I'm not crude, but if I was ... lol!

Well, I for one admire AllyKat for her strength and kindness, especially to me. There really are some shallow people out there. None of us are perfect, nor do we have the perfect husband or kids. [I should know], because I am living a not perfect life! As a girl, I had it all planned out, the knight in shining armour, the castle, the beautiful sweet kids, etc.....If you claim to be living this life, then I will say that you are a liar. It just doesn't happen.

Not to be rude, but can we try to keep this thread on topic?
I would really hate for this to get locked because of personal comments being made.
It's very important to me, and I'm sure, as well to others, to know of a way to have information expunged from a website they do not wish to be affiliated with.
Thanks for understanding!
Since there has never been any activity on my account at all, I do not see the need for them to keep the information in the database.
Since BidBay isn't signed up with any of the privacy companies like trust-E or Verisign, is there any authority to report this problem to?
Well, no one does live a perfect fairy tale life and you're absolutely correct, it would be a lie if anyone said they did. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors and it's really no one's business anyway.
There are those who live in dreamland all the time and those who just happen to be smacked by reality.

Perhaps the state of California? Other than that I know of no one that they would have to answer to. If you find out let us know, because there are several people out here that want the info off!

I agree. You should certainly start by making a call to your Attorney General's Office. I will to mine, I have a contact name there because of the committees I serve on. While I have them on the phone, I will give them an earful about some other things also.....

You mean Sheila from Golds? Someone at BidBay said one of the posters here was really Sheila.
He called me long distance to tell me all about this exciting (to him) news and how he figured it out. I told him it no longer mattered, as Golds was no longer in existence. But he's bound and determined to expose this poster for what it's worth.
I really didn't believe him, but she may have taken the real Sheila's place after I left.
Anyway, how would this Sheila know anything if she only monitored BidBay? Does she have access to their records?

Hello GPLewis!
CDROM, well if she did, perhaps he deserved monitoring. He's not a very pleasant fellow at all once you see beyond the facade, which I did recently. I imagine you know who he thought Sheila really was? If it's true, I know why all of a sudden I had such a hard time there after a personal visit. Anyway, CDROM you said, "she monitored BidBay" Which is it? BidBay or the fella?
I wrote to Cooley with copies to the Securities Commission. I don't know if it'll help, but legally they can't detain your info if you request it be gone. I also changed my user ID while I was there and oops, it showed up on my auction for the bidbay store. LOL!
My auction will probably be gone tonight, but who cares. I paid funny money for the store.
