Who's kidding who? I visited Excite the "all-free" online auction and there I found feedback I'd left for a buyer on City Auction many months ago. The same feedback is also on City Auction. So is Excite a front for City Auction whom I believe will soon charge listing fees? If so, when will Excite start charging? I think I know the answer to that one ... when they, in turn, set up another "all-free" site. In the meantime, we poor sellers are chasing our tails for nothing. In the end everyone will charge. And why shouldn't they? The problem is that they could at least be honest about it in the first place.

The reason sites eventually charge is because that have to make some money someday. I use Lowestbids.com. they have found a way to be free forever. They give you the listing fee free. The way they make their money is by allowing auction sellers to advertise their auctions on other websites. I know this is a new concept but think about it. The money you used to spend to list your item can now be spent to bring buyers to your listings.
Just thought you should know.

The reason you see the feedback because they are all a part of the fairmarket network, when you post an auction on any of their sites it automatically is shown on all of them.

I don't appear to be getting much reaction on this. Just a commercial and some mis-information. I have checked 3 other Fairmarket sites and that information isn't on the others. Are you trying to tell me, Carl99, that if I list on Excite it also appears on City Auction? I don't think so!

If you list on Excite it shows up on all fairmarket sites including city auction, msn, Lycos, nytoday, and boston.com, I suggest you check out fairmarket.com for more information. Each fairmarket site has their own policies reguarding fees so that of city auction charges it does not mean excite will to.
I copied the following info from fairmarket "Sellers: If you're looking to sell on some of the web's best portal sites, register with any of our community partners. What's more, the stuff you put up for sale there will be distributed across all of our community partners' sites — at no additional charge."
