I am not supprise. With the cost of doing business on the net going up each year site fees, shipping, ect, the cost of the product follows, so sales will drop simply because some people cant afford to buy. If things keep going the way they have online auctions as we know it will be a thing of the past. All that will be for sale will be old collectables that you cant find anymore.

The decline compares the Xmas season with the post holiday season.
It makes good copy to get people going, but the fair comparison, contained in the body of the article, compares 1Q2000 to 1Q2001.
Yes, sales declined more online that regular retail, but maybe that's to be expected? It might say more about on-line buying cycles that a fact about 'declining sales.'
